Legion Attacks

LONESOME ROAD SPOILERS AHEAD.

I finished Lonesome Road the other night and decided to nuke Caesar. I am now vilified among them and getting attacked by random legionaries. To be honest, when I decided to nuke them I thought it would almost wipe out the legion. Didn't expect it to do nothing but open up an entirely new legion area with legion ghouls in it but leave Caesar unscathed with enough men to hunt me down all across the Mojave as if I never nuked them. Is there any way to get them to stop attacking me all the time without using the console? I thought nuking them would make them weak and few in number but all its done is make me have to wear a legion costume wherever I go and hope no NCR sees me. I already got the mark of Caesar and was forgiven for my crimes once, so I can't rely on that.

There's no way to make them like you again, no. The nuke option was good in theory, but poorly implemented given the scope of a 10 dollar DLC. The nuke only affects one Legionary area (Dry Wells), but would have more weight on the Legion in reality rather than what is presented. Just keep killing the Legionaries, they're good ways to get equipment. Surely, a Courier who has survived The Divide shouldn't be phased by mere Legionaries.

When I picked the Legion territory to nuke I had a feeling that all I would get back in the Mojave was more legionare hit squads. While I do wish that it would have effected the Legion in the Mojave more I wasn't really bothered by it.
And I'm sorry to tell you but you're just going to have to deal with the hit squads head on. But like apples said they really shouldn't be an issue.

As stated above, there is no way to make them friendly now.

For taking them on, I like the assault carbine, an the LMG. Takes down basically everything.

Alright, thanks for the info. Yeah, they're not a problem for my character, they're just a nuisance - sometimes I'm just trying to quest or get from point A to point B and I don't want to waste ammo and stim packs on annoying hit squads that shrugged off my nuclear bomb.

Try to stay away from certain areas.
Legion controlled areas, he Gulp n' Grub,NCR Ranger safehouse, a bit outside Red Rock Canyon, are generally where I find them waiting for me.
I try to keep away form those areas, but most of the time I forget, and then get ambushed.
