i hate the legion and usually screw them out of everything they have. ive basicly destroyed the legion in my game play. by the end, the fort had been masacred, ceaser was dead,cottonwood cove had been completely taken out, the white legs, exterminated, ceasers lands bombed with nukes, and every legion patrol and controlled town(nipton, ect.) had been wiped clean of legion.

still, i wanna know what the legion can possibly give me if i work for them. if i work with the legion, what followers, unique items, quests, and other cool stuff could i get?

You'll get the Lucky Shades which is reason enough for me. The Mojave itself will also be a far more secure place.

Legion, apart from it's main quest-line, has very few quests in comparison to NCR, but they are generally better IMO.
You also get free stuff from them, Dale Burton as a trainer, the legion Safehouse, a unique unarmed move and you get to kill tons of disgusting people that are affiliated with NCR.
Hmm, what else... You get a unique helmet from Aurelius, a unique machete from Dead Sea, you can use Lupa's brain for Rex, I think you get some other unique stuff too.
You get to fight in another arena, you get to use disguises for once and uhm. Yeah.

Do this: Help them a little bit until u get a key to their safehouse, then go there take the lucky shades and rob the casinos :) PROFIT.

Oh and THEN kill them, there aint really much rewards if u side with Legion, besides a few combat styles and the authorization to kill everyone west of the colorado. I dont approve, kill anyone in Vegas and i will come after u bro.

This exactly.

I was upset my first playthrough when I found out there were Lucky Shades, and that I needed to be liked by the Legion to get the key. My new playthrough I collected enough dogtags(killed by fiends) to get legion fame for the key and the takedown move. Lucky Shades and Naughty Nightwear make gambling much easier. I'm still at a point where I can choose an allegience, but I will probably side with NCR again. I'm not sure I'm ready to be Legion yet.

Apart being the most stable choice for the Mojave (unless of course, you're a benevolent dictator in Yes Man), you can get stuff that's even better than NCR stuff.

There are the legion drop boxes, which basically give you free money (Legion coins) you can exchange for caps at the casino or buy stuff from a merchant. Not to mention they sometimes have pretty good ammo stuffs.

You can get into the Legion safehouse which has a merchant in there, and the Lucky Shades. Not to mention you get another really great merchant in the Fort.

You wouldn't be able to be a dictator through yes man, at the end of the game yes man says he found a way to make himeself more assertive in Mr.Houses files and that he was going offline for a little while to do it. Yes man becomes the new Mr. House and throws the courier out on their ass.

I don't think it's really explained what him being more "assertive" entails. Numerous things could be assumed by that, but they would all still be assumptions

People at Obsidian have been asked about this and they have said that Yesman will not go skynet on the Courier or New Vegas.

Caesar wouldn't want your help profligate!

What do other factions offer that's so much greater than what the Legion offers (besides more quests)? There's no super special perks to working for anybody else! The only acceptable reward for serving the Legion is the knowledge that you are serving the most just cause! :twirl:

In case no one has mentioned this, Atticus is the only NPC to get new Stealthboys from as far as I know, there is no way to farm them or buy them elsewhere. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

And if they can be bought elsewhere, Atticus gives you them for free.

I stressed the words I Believe.

I heard it quoted somewhere on the forums, a month or two ago.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Caesar%27s_Favor - constant supply of free med supplies, bullets, ammo and money.
Lucky Shades - +1 LCK after aquiring Liked status or higher.
Vulpes Inculta - nuff said.
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Legion_Assault - Unique unarmed move, most powerful in the game. Aquire Liked or better rep.
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Liberator- Unique Machete gained by eliminating all named NPCs in Forlorn Hope, part of We Are Legion.
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Gladius - Completely unique weapon weapon carried by higher up Legionnaires.

There is also a quest to bring NCR dogtags to Phoenix or the merchant down in CottonCove.
You can also teach the merchant how to disarm mines and give him a schematic for dynamite charges (found at the NCRCF)

I hope the legion ending in Cannon... it would create a really good setting for future fallout games.

I don't think it would. That's why I don't side with them.

With the legion you wouldn't have to worry about getting attacked by raiders every two minutes, the wasteland would be a safe place for all, as long as you don't appose them... and as long as you're not female.

They don't treat a female courier bad, they only treat the slaves bad like slaves, and that even goes for the male slaves.

Exactly, even if their society is a bit sixist towards female's, even if it's only within the army, it's slaves that are treated badly.

Examples of women not being taken for slavery:

* Jeannie May
* Female Courier
* Primm

Legion has citizens, both male and female.
So Legion lands are safe for women who are citizens.
And hell, as long as a breeder doesn't oppose the Legion I think their life is considerably better than a labour slave.
A labour slave has to work all the time, every day for little food.

A breeder on the other hand, and this is just speculation but it makes sense, they have to be treated better.
Think about it, they need food for two, so they will get more food.
As long as they don't try to make a run for it or oppose Legion they'll likely not have to work a day in their life.
And they won't be physically mishandled as it could hurt the babies, which Legion needs.
It wouldn't make much sense for Legion to treat their breeders horribly as they need the women and their babies.

Well, they offer the lucky shades but you have to svck up to them.. The best way to svck up to them in my opinion without making life hell for everyone is usually going to Cottonwood Cover & abusing a small speech loop that involved land mines & an explosives skill of 50.

After all, lucky shades are lucky.
