No it was not that. I was concerned I had a group that was both sixist and racist. I really, REALLY, don't like racism and sixism.

NCR were never slavers. They just killed people right then and there. They don't need slaves, they have a huge militia and don't need any extra work. The Legion, on the other hand are a small group. They need slaves.

And they don't have more camps because Caesar doesn't "want" them to have more camps, listen to Dead Sea, he says they could easily take out Forlorn Hope but his orders are to stay put because it lowers NCR's morale by them being there in Nelson.

He did not sound too convincing to me though.
I've wiped out Forlorn Hope many times, he mentions also that his numbers have been diminished and that he'd love to take it.
That and they tried a push before, but held due to caesers orders.

Afterwards if you take the camp, he honours you with his sword.
One that was presented to him for a great victory, and one that he could not take back without a greater honour.

I'm not saying it does not drop NCR morale or caesar has failed in planning, just that Hope is by far a better tactical asset to hold.
Nelson is a weak position barely held by captives, once they're gone only the cave system south would provide any help if attacked in force.

If a Caesar's Legion centurion was on the back or on the disc of New Vegas I think they would have gotten some publicity and fame, instead of everyone thinking "I wanna be that badass gas mask dude who's side is he on? NCR? Ok, NCR FTW!"

It's like choosing between two evils , in my eyes one is more or less akin to Nazism with the Caesar/Kaiser , sort of Fuhrer who supports a militarist and expansionist society , who's for enslaving most of the people outside his own lands , slaughters the "sub humans" they call profilgates in the game , think women have no usefulness except procreating , and who believes some men don't deserve to be free and live etc ...

The other camp is like communism/stalinism , pretty obvious with the red star on NCR emblems ( with the Bear on the flag too , sort of wink to the Soviet Union past of Russia ) , it's probably the lesser evil than the Legion , but it's totally corrupt , the only ones who benefit from the system are the high ranking military and officials , people get overtaxed with barely anything to live , progress is smothered and the "regime" wants to control everybody and all the riches and wealth of the Mojave , NCR leaders do not care at all of the well being of the population . At least it's the way i understood it playing the game . The only positive effect both Legion and NCR can offer is peace and order , which is arguably a lot in the Mojave though .

So i'd reluctantly vote NCR , but by far the best option in my eyes is : the Courier , who would create a new Free side / New Vegas Republic . Otherwise another least worse option is to accept the autocracy of an enlightened person in Mr House , but no one knows what his greed and enormous ambition could do to the population on the long term as he' s not exactly a humanist , more of a unscrupulous manipulator . Still , i think he 'd do more good to the Mojave than the NCR simply because he'd develop business/economy much better and improve technology

NCR is nothing like far right socialism, they are by all means 18~19th century US and mostly run by businessmen; they also have expanding across the continent (but backwards).

NCR only does a passable job for for keeping raiders away, even back in California. As for how much NCR care for its people, you can ask your senator.

Obviously the figures won't be the same after the war but the proportions presumably wouldn't have changed greatly particularly given Caesar's penchant for bloody conquests.

The NCR is large yes, but stable? No.

There's nothing socialist about the NCR at all. They're reminiscent of early conquering democracies, or the pre-war USA that annexed Canada.

I prefer the NCR over the Legion but not because of the Legion's sixism
Major Knight states that NCR is discriminating towards (male) homosixuality, so they're no better then the Legion when it comes to toleration

Maybe you are right , but the way i see it :

- President Kimball has no opposition within the NCR , he is some sort of dictator , besides i didn't hear about elections or citizen voting
- NCR doesn't care about individual freedoms , displace people from their lands , prevent business to function properly as they over-tax the merchants who are left with barely nothing to survive , hence why some merchants prefer to trade in the Legion territory
- NCR emblem is the red star , NCR integrates people through the military almost exclusively , people who aren't part of them are expandables , when you are not NCR , you have no rights and can lose your property ( NCR doesn't repect private property unless it is NCR"s ) or business
- Instead of allying with pro-business Mr House , NCR wants to "nationalise" Vegas , to acquire it for its own needs to fund its expansion/war effort , NCR doesn' t care one bit about the people of Freeside


Stuffs like that makes me tend to think they are not far from an authoritarian regime similar to communist regimes ( corruption , regime that has his hand on all the wealth of the country , the people kept poor , free market and business discouraged etc ) , i've seen some propaganda signs at Mc Carran that says "NCR brings democracy" , but they are deceiving the people really , there is nothing democratic in the way they behave in the Mojave from what i've seen , but ok i may be wrong

My fav NCR picture is the one of the legion vexalirius and under neath in big white letters it says something like

if you steal from the NCR
YOU ARE HIS [female dog]

Well you look at it this way. NCR has better values, as in women have rights, no slavery or other [censored] up leggion things.
Legion sacrafices those things to keep order and stability to the places it controls.
It really depends what you think is best for the Mojave, the ncr with its poor security and freedoms but they only apply to people who are NCR, everyone else is second class.
Legion, wont give everyone the luxuries the ncr dose. but they make sure everyone has safety because they offer protection. And everyone would be healthier due to them banning chems. Only issue is the one who leads it. All you need to do is hope the bad leaders die quickly and the good ones live long.

That's the thing about the Legion. sixism doesn't benefit them in the slightest. When you fight the female NCR soldier in the arena Otho admits that she has killed many Legionnaires. I think Obsidian should have at least gave Caesar a reason to discriminate against women.
