While I've seen many threads on factions on the first page and one about the four main choices I'd like to know which faction you believe the Mojave needs: The Legion or the NCR.

I'm Pro-Legion in this regard. I think it's a decision of living a tough life with the Legion or not living at all. It actually took me a playthrough to support the Legion. At first I was Anti-Legion (just ask Caesar's limbless body) but I began to see them as ruthless protectors. Now, Obsidian did kind of put them in half-assedly and they're probably not the most fun faction to play as, so this is more about who you believe would do better as leaders of New Vegas in teh realz lyfe.

And I apologise if this thread has actually been done and I haven't seen it, I just find it a very interesting topic.

Many times, but open wounds and lemon flavoured salt go together so well here.
One note if it turns into a versus thread it'll end bad, as they are very bad.

The Mojave needs no group in charge, if anyone it should be the general populace.
Those that seem to actually be improving their lot than just going around swinging their todgers at every asset in sight.

I'm in the neither camp as well. I say it needs House or the Courier, with the muscle of the Securitrons and the BoS backing them/him/her up.

Nope, if it end's badly there tends to be lots of bad things done to people..

But I say the Legion, as we havn't seen the entire 'legion' but I know enough that they are trying to bring culture and wipe out corruption.
Even though they are a bit 'forceful' I guess it just helps the idea.

Yeah, I do hope the make a DLC centered around them or some such.

Most likely given the fact that it's a vital part of how the courier might meet that one guy...who many NPCs mention.

NCR openly contracts mercenaries so I choose NCR, the sole reason being they are better for business.

The Legion practices slavery and winks at cannibalism.....if that's civilization I will pass.

Neither are the "good" guys in the common sense. In my opinion, the NCR is the lesser of the two evils. I repsect the Leigon, but slavery, sixism, and genocide is unforgivable and from what i've seen, thats all they're about

NCR is too weak and overstretched, Legion too oppressive. House is too detached.

NCR because they are rebuilding and have been doing so for a very long time.

Legion, if I saw them build things insted of buring them I might see them in a different light.

I would have to go with the NCR. Do they have their faults? Yes. But they have already done so much, I really think a Mojave under the bear flag would be a better place to live.

I do see the good the Legion could do, but that little shine of good is eclipsed by what I've personally seen them do. Even though I respect Caesar and what he has done to unit and protect the East, through a sea of blood, I fear the Legion couldn't be salvaged into what it could be.

Legion is underdeveloped, NCR is bias, long term goal, yadda yadda yadda...

Still don't see any point to this discussion, we've already had it a couple of times and the game is too bias towards NCR and gives too little about Legion to defend it.
It's a pointless discussion until a Legion DLC rolls out.

The region is mostly in NCR control and it is basically a warzone, no chance for Caesar to build. Gladly you are given the possibility to put the Legion in the position to build (although, unfortunately you won't be seeing it).

I think Mr. House is the best way for the Mojave. He's a sharp businessman, he's a genius (He even founded RobCo at 22 years old, I mean, come on), he single handedly saved Las Vegas from the 77 atomic warheads aimed at Las Vegas, he reabilitated the three largest tribes in Vegas, he never asks you to kill an NCR politician or a Legion power (NCR and the Legion will ask you to). House may not be a humanitarian, but I don't think that qualifies you as a bad leader, just a distant and unemotionally connected leader. But he would be the best hope. Over time, he could bring all the lights of Vegas back on, make the city a truly Pre-War city, and the beginning of bringing mankind from its derailment from a track it never should have left.

I don't think life under the Legion would be that bad. Legion at the moment is pretty brutal, but it makes sense seeing how they are just an army whose sole purpose is to conquer NCR. Haven't you listened to Caesar at all, people?

It's not bias since I'm not presenting either side in a negative view. I'm merely expressing the truth. (Although that last part is just my fan boy coming out of the woodworks :laugh:)

@Rusina- To listen to the leader of one faction and go by their word alone is a poor choice in judgement. It's best to ask around and make an informed opinion. That's why though I don't side with Legion, I can still defend them against biased rants or opinions.

Not to mention little caesar has a very inflated egocentric view of himself and the legion.
The legion was formed of petty savages and barbarians, performing petty raids and skirmishes amongst themselves.
c came along and gave them basic knowledge about maintenance and firearms, turning the savages into a civilised nation.
Using tactics and implements of control focusing on the worst atrocites from history.
Making him a defacto god emperor, he names himself after great figures in history to solidify that view.
Uses a cult leader tricks to strip any normal social and family bonds, creating a legion in the biblical sense, entirely devoted to his whims.
Despite their tactical and combat experience in field, and other more practical and helpfull science and technology.

His visions of the battles to come are all ripped straight from ancient history books, which makes them flawed in the least.
His loathing of the NCR, speaks to bad tempered jealousy aimed, like a middle manager jobsworth that feels entitled to something greater.
His upbringing in the FotA, shows that the legions practice of discrimination is most likely due to the stronger female influence in that society, and could even be oedipal.
This is most likely the cause of enforced anti tech doctrine in the legion.

All the above is based on in dialogue conversations directly with c, and I have no faction allegiance ( well to the Khans I do. )

It probably wouldn't be that bad. Unless you're a man in which case you'll be conscripted into the army, torn from your home and family (who will be enslaved) and forced into an alien and brutal culture where you're thrown away as cannon fodder. Or if you're a woman in which case you'll be enslaved, probably [censored], and parceled out to Legionnaires at Caesar's whim as breeding stock. Or if you're a child in which case you'll either be brainwashed into a life of fanatical military servitude or can expect the honor of being forced into being a comfort woman as soon as you're old enough for it depending on your gender.

I agree with you except for the respect of the legion. I do not respect anyone who is for genocide, slavery, racism/sixism. This applies to the Enclave too. Rather than neo nazis, they are "futuro" nazis. If it weren't for their toys, there would be less people on these boards liking them.
