I honestly wouldnt say either is better than the other, just better in ways.

Though the best faction is obviously Mr. House and his Vegas :whisper:

Do we have any knowledge as to how the taxes ratio is in NCR?
I mean, do they have really brutal taxes, hefty taxes, just taxes, or "meh" taxes?
And what happens if someone don't pay the taxes?

Colonel Martyr, I think you mean the greediest faction.

So if I have a bad job cause there are none other available then I have to pay the NCR my hard earned money just so they can get richer and fatter?
And if I don't I get sentenced to jail?
NCR isn't making a case for themselves.
At least in Legion I don't have to worry about taxes at all if I'm a citizen, all money I earn is mine. <_<

High enough to force most of the Goodspring settlers to move on if the courier sides with the NCR.

So I'll say scandinavian socialist welfare utopia taxes, but with no benefits :P

The legion is the best for its citizens. No taxes and safety which is much more than the NCR offers

yes but NCR controls a vast amount of land compared to the legion and its tough to run all that land and keep everyone in order so they need tax to keep things up and running

The NCR owns California and the North western half of Nevada. The Legion owns Arizona, New Mexico, and I think one other state.

Actually I think their territory is about equal, but I'm not 100% sure.

At least they try to help the world in their own way instead of just wanting to selfishly try to rebuild a city once lost. ;)
House is nothing more than an old man stuck in his nostalgia, wanting to recreate a city of sin that the world weeded out during the Great War.

at least hes trying to rebuild stuff unlike what i can say for the rest of the waste land. The ncr can help its citizens to there not helpless they have a greater army than the legion.

Can you REALLY argue that House is only nostalgic? He's bringing back the glitz and lights of a world snubbed by politics he never cared for.

But at the same time, we have Caesar emulating the Romans, constantly trying to live up to multiple Roman standards and dress and classes. Sounds like Nostalgia to me.
The NCR emulates the Pre-War government, the same damned leadership that BROUGHT us to where Fallout is. I think it even further shows it's messing up by emulating the old government. How you ask? By the time New Vegas starts, the NCR is in so much crap that it makes the New York City sewers look sparkly clean.

My point is, you can't really argue against one faction when everyone else is doing it too.

Legion is trying to rebuild civilization in their own form, so they are also trying to rebuild.
Point is, their rebuilding is better than Houses. (Felt like a 8 year old typing that.)
House only tries to rebuild Vegas for himself, Core Region and Arizona could fall for all he care.
Legion on the other hand cares about their lands, they care about their people.
There's a big difference in what they're trying to accomplish but they are both rebuilding in their own way.
I just don't see House's way as a good thing.

Colonel Martyr, Legion don't do a trip down memory lane by emulating the roman culture, go talk to Caesar, he can explain it better than I can, but it isn't about nostalgia.

yes indeed every faction has its downfalls but i think the house is one of those factions that can make stuff actually come true more than i can say for NCR and legion none of them can even try to do what house does.

There's a difference between american taxes and like say pre-colonial america taxes that England was forcing on us. One is enough that is barely makes a dent in our paychecks, the other is feeding the power hungry back in another continent (in ncr's case state) that we don't even care about.

I get it, he's emulating their culture, but alot of it seems like he's merely on a glory trip, and anything good that comes from his behaviors is just bonus material. But I honestly prefer Lanius never become Caesar. Why? Because compared to the current Caesar, Lanius is not a leader, he's a battle commander, thats where he needs to stay, is idea is 'If we dont like it. burn it' and kill it.' Lanius is nothing short of being two threads away from being a feral monster. Caesar at least has a sense of honor. Honestly, the Legion morally disgusts me. They could easily use a more efficient system of law and order and yet it does the more barbaric thing and kills anything not Legion, we got past that for a reason, because it's outdated and impractical. We don't need to go back to it.

exactly thank you and thats why i choose NCR. if the ncr looses a battle you dont see them killing their soldiers because of it oh but the legion does that and its a disgrace. why would you kill your own military little by little.

Lanius is indeed the monster of the East. But he's not Caesar, so this is hardly relevant.

they also control parts of utah and parts of colorado.
and new cannan is in utah so im pretty sure we will see a legion presence if there is a new cannan dlc.

p.s. wow im late to the discussion.

I believe Caesar's Legion is the best thing that could happen to the Mojave wasteland... Well, certainly a lot better than the NCR. Order, civilization, all under 1 flag. Their military also heavily appeals to me.

Caesar's Legion also has some of the best NPCs in the game.

so let me guess your a fan of the roman empire period and thats why you like them pretty much. And they are certainly not better than the NCR if anything there equal to each other.
