Legion or NCR? #5

Post » Fri Feb 27, 2009 6:47 pm

yes make a legion DLC so that half the people that play NV dont get it smart i idea i give hats off to you sir  . You need a DLC where everyone will like it not just one group. thats why thiers choices

I meant a DLC where it shows you the cities of the legion. Where it might show you the legion view of things. So people wont just go, look they murder and [censored] they must be nazis and i must kill them all! We arnt told alot about the legion, all we see is war camps and ect.

Picture yourslef IRL as a villager of a small tribe in gaul in real life. Legionaries with Ceaser arrive and you defend youre home. The romans win and all youre brothers and friends are cruicified and [censored]. You will think the Romans are barbarians. You have no knowledge of Rome or the great achivements that have been made there. You just think that they are evil barbarians who liked killing and [censored].

Talk to Raul, about the legion. He has it right

World of Difference. NCR does not enslave the population. NCR brings peace and the people can go on with their lives just now they pay taxes to NCR.

Legion come in an kill and Enslave most of the population.

I'm in full agreement with you that the NCR is far better than the Legion. I'm just saying that for everyone who claims the NCR can't deal with the Powder Gangers in fact both the Legion and the NCR perform just as well in dealing with the Powder Gangers regardless of the Courier.

The Legion only triumphs over the Fiends where the NCR couldn't because the Fiends mostly wipe themselves attacking McCarran. There's no evidence that Caesar would be able to defeat them so easily if that hadn't occurred.

the reason i ask is because i can just as easily use the courier as a defense.
obviously if the courier helps ncr the ncr wins. same goes with legion.
thats why bringing the courier into the debate is just useless.
and thats why the courier shouldnt be in the debate

Nothing happens without the courier.

Go a head and use him as a defence. Does not change the outcome for the Legion. He helps the Legion. Legion still comes in and enslaves most of the population.

He helps NCR and NCR drived the Legion out. NCR no longer has to deal with powder gangers or fiends. People live in peace and live their lives as normal just now under NCR.

So if the Legion is the "best choice" for the Mojave then why do the Steam achievement stats (and thus the players) say otherwise?

No Gods, No Masters (Yes Man)- 14%
Eureka! (NCR)- 8.6%
All or Nothing (Mr. House)- 6.1%
Veni, Vidi, Vici (CL)- 2.9%

I think it is pretty clear the community views CL as savages, and thus chose not to side with them.

Also would imply that most of the Steam Community either cheated or quite playing the game, before they finished it.

Spoiler

After the Legion's victory, Caesar, out of a strange respect for his old fellows, allowed the Followers safe passage out of the wasteland. Reluctantly, the Followers accepted the offer and abandoned Old Mormon Fort to the Legion.

The Legion only does that if Lanius is alive.

Which disgusted me, Caesar doesn't kill the Followers because heknows them. What if he'd have grown up in the Brotherhood? Then he'd exterminate the Followers and let the Brotherhood live. He only kills people he doesn't know too well. In my opinion he's a coward for that.

The Legion doesn't kill people.

They enslave alot and peacefully rule over the rest.

Explain Arcade's ending then.

Spoiler
When news reached Freeside that Legion forces were approaching New Vegas, Arcade did his best to help people escape with adequate supplies. A Legionary explorer saw Arcade helping locals escape and pointed him out to a Centurion. Arcade's group was run down somewhere near Westside. There were no survivors.

Explain these two...

Spoiler

Though Arcade had not hoped for an NCR victory, he was proud of his role in the defense of Hoover Dam against the forces of Caesar's Legion. Unfortunately, when word spread that Arcade was once a member of the Enclave, he was forced out of the Followers of the Apocalypse. Pursued by bounty hunters, NCR rangers, and the Brotherhood of Steel, Arcade pushed deep into the eastern plains and was never heard from again.

Spoiler

Though Arcade was crushed by the Legion's victory at Hoover Dam, he was not among NCR's casualties. During the NCR's retreat from the Mojave Wasteland, he helped defend NCR citizens and refugees on their way to Mojave Outpost. Unfortunately, NCR rangers identified his father's armor as Enclave property. He was arrested, tried as a war criminal, and imprisoned indefinitely.

how does those statistics prove that ncr is better?
that only proves that most people sided with the ncr.
does that make the ncr better? no.

*Facepalm*

Really?

No Gods, No Masters (Yes Man)- 14%+
Eureka! (NCR)- 8.6%+
All or Nothing (Mr. House)- 6.1%+
Veni, Vidi, Vici (CL)- 2.9%+
=
31.6%

Which leaves 68.4% of the community unaccounted for; and not to mention that only 94% of people that own the game completed the first quest.

Regardless of whether or not it represents the entire community you can see a clear trend. I'd like to look at PS3 and 360 stats but I don't know if Microsoft, Sony, or any other 3rd party site even compiles community achievement stats like Steam does.

I don't think they do.

Would be intresting to see it though.

I know.

But just look what he said 'WHAT THE [censored] are you talking about you just cant fing accept that there is Clear evidence in this thread that NCR is better. where do you get your stats please tell me i would like to know this' responding to what I said 'Also would imply that most of the Steam Community either cheated or quite playing the game, before they finished it.'

I like some of these pro-legion arguments...

"The Legion brings peace!"

So does Cold War-era Communism... by violently killing anybody who says/does anything that the ruling party says is wrong. Yeah, the Mojave is peaceful after the Legion takes it over... but that's because all the women and most of the men are slaves, and any children are inducted into the legion, and anyone who takes up arms over it gets killed.

The Legion is what we would recognize as Facism taken to 11. It is brutal to anyone with a dissenting opinion, and somewhat less brutal to everyone else. It offers peace at the expense of anything resembling freedom for most of their citizens; only people who are truly "free" are the guys who are ruling over the others.

Why are people not getting this?

FALSE! Caesar spares the FotA because he KNOWS them, Lanius would have done the same if he grew up with them. As I explained in an earlier post; Caesar only kills people he doesn't know. If he would have grown up with the BoS he wouldn't have the Courier exterminate them.

Epic that was less than 30 percent. of players that actually did the final quest. So they either cheated and glitched or they didnt finish

Eh.

The whole going around in circles about 'NCR being corrupt' and 'Legion enslaving people' is getting moderatly old.

There is still a lot of hatred for our people, we did try to *ahem* posion the whole world. The Followers still remove him, dispite them not really being affilated with the NCR, I don't really see how you can hold this against the NCR really, a squad of Enclave troopers reappear after 30 years and start tearing [censored] up better than all of them, the Enclave are still bad guys who really should be brought to justice, Arcade appeared to be was one of them.

I believe the exact wording is "Out of a strange RESPECT", the Followers aren't a threat to anyone, the Brotherhood are and would most likely prove a major thorn in Caesar's side, particularly if the Legion took Helios.

respect for what? certainly not respect for their ideals or moral standards. Caesar knows the FotA, if he didn't grow up with them he would have killed them all.
