A leisurly way to play Crysis 2...?

Post » Wed Aug 03, 2011 3:37 am

I just bought Crysis 2 a couple of days ago. Already beat the campaing on max difficulty. EPIC btw; best story since Halo series and way the hell better than Cock of Duty. So as you can imagine i turned my attention to multiplayer. I have to say that its not fun at all. Its hella freakin awesome but not fun...at all.

Is there any way you can just play the game for fun? There is no such thing as matchmaking (well there is but it doesnt work) so i always have to browse servers manually and on both occasions, where matchmaking actually puts me in a game rather than just sticking me in my own lobby like it does 98% of the time and logging into a server manually, there is no such thing as a fair game.

I understand that i am new and am bound to svck but seriously!? getting your ass kicked so hard by lvl 40s and above who all have bich felines, all the best armor upgrades, and a boat load more experience and XP than you that it makes your ass go numb in real life is not my idea of fun; I did not pay 60 dollars for Counter-Strike with lvling system and fancy graphics. Is there any way that you can get matched with ppl of a similar skillset or at very least a similar rank? And i dont want to play unranked matches because i cant level up and get new guns and stuff.

Is there anyway to just play Crysis 2 multiplayer for fun or am i going to have to go back to the Halo series for that?

I'd say play whatever you're good at, but keep at Crysis 2. The thing about Crysis 2 is it's not so SIMPLE as people think it is. It actually takes some skill and even patience to be good at it, what with managing your energy meter and all.

Halo is good fun though, been playing heaps of rocket race :D

Well, you will get killed by level 40 players if you play on their servers... Play on newbie servers! Btw. You can play on unranked servers, that are just for fun!

yeah you could play on unranked servers TSAndrey
but how long does it take to get upgrades or levels?
And where are all the newbie servers?

kmurph449, I feel with you!
In the last few Days I thought exctly the same,
and the only thing to get a few points ist to get killed
every 9 seconds in the hope one player walks directly
in front of you, so you can put a few bullits on him.

The Scar is one of the best weapons in the game so just use it, it doesn't take long to level up anyway

It's really hard the first couple of days, just don't give up cause then you'll be missing tons of fun.

When I first played the demo I was pretty bad at it but if you keep playing it becomes really fun and you get used to it

Here's a link to a server specially set up for new players. If no one is on the server just get on and other players will start joining.

For the perks to focus on at the start, when I reboot, I will probably focus on Scar, Nano Enhance, Blindspot and aim enhance

Thats a pretty decent combo I recon, switch blindspot for stealth enhance if you have energy managemetn issues.

Retriever is also quite good for new players (if they've unlocked it of course, power level 6) especially when they get it to level 2
