Leonard Nimoy Passes Away

Post » Wed Mar 02, 2016 12:30 pm

Exactly. He will be remembered as Spock of course.

But let's remember he also played a key character the real Mission Impossible -- (not Tom's James Bond wannabe rip off of MI [my opinion])

And also all his In Search Of all kinds of interesting stuff.

My favorite scene of him was in "The Final Frontier" with his brother Sybok, moments before Sybok was going to sacrifice himself for the crew(and pretty much the galaxy).

RIP Leonard Nimoy.

I am a big fan of Star Trek and of Spock. I have watched Star Trek almost everyday of my life. Spock and Star Trek has given me a strong sense of morality and principals. I truly believe in the future of that universe and a humanity like that in Star Trek.

He will be missed.

I watched the show through the 80's mostly and more recently the movies but I would never call myself a trekkie. Not a nut just a casual fan. Spock being such a huge part of the show and movies no doubt will be missed. All the docs he did as well. He wont be forgotten that's for sure. Great man R.I.P.

I first saw the news while having "MeTV" on the television. They are doing a "Leonard Nimoy Remembered Day." I went to the web to verify and sure enough, he has passed on. No Star Trek 3 for him, this time :)

I will miss him and mourn the death of an actor I have enjoyed watching all my life.

Rest in peace, Leonard...

When you look back at the old cast there isn't much left of them:

William Shatner.

Nichelle Nichols.

Walter Koenig.

and Geroge Taki are the only ones left.

Nearly all actors seem to be able to sing when called upon. At least a bit. And yes, Leonard had quite a good singing voice.

Don't forget Voyager and DS9!

Michael Dorn a while back had interest in starting up another ST series. I guess it didn't go through.

Anyway Star Trek will truly be gone once all of them have passed.

So sad to learn of the news that Leonard Nimoy has passed away.

I have so many memories of fascinating adventures with the crew of the Star Trek Enterprise, Spock being my absolute favorite character. I watched many episodes when they first premiered, and when my mom and dad would let me stay up late enough to watch them.

I also vaguely remember him in the Mission Impossible television show. He also hosted a program called "In Search Of" which I really liked and never missed.

Although I never met him, I feel like I knew him. He was a one of a kind actor and will always hold a special place in my memories. May he rest in peace. He will be missed.

Yes, I pointed both of those out in post 26. He should be recognized for more than just being Spock.

 I didn't see that, before I went back and read your post. He was a talented actor, who will be missed.

I watched that show religiously! It was so cool and covered topics like The Bermuda Triangle and so many other mysteries of our world :)

You can count me among that group. My mother got me and my brother hooked on Star Trek in the early to mid 70's, when it first came back in syndication. I watched every episode many times over, read a lot of the fan fiction, watched the short-lived animated series and of course watched all of the movies. I've read and watched a lot of science fiction and fantasy that I probably wouldn't have if I hadn't gotten hooked on that show as a kid.
