[Relz] Less Annoying Magic Experience

Hey, I'm encountering an issue with missing meshes. It seems enemies are somehow spawning with the shivering isles bound item spells and casting them, causing missing mesh errors to appear in their hands.

The items with missing meshes that are showing up are:

bgSEBoundJyggalagbgSEBoundOrder2bgSEBoundOrder1bgSEBoundOrder0


There may be others, but I have not found them yet.

If you don't have Shivering Isles, use the "NoSI" version of AddEnVar ;).

I didn't even know that file existed. I used BAIN to install it and never bothered looking in the "Not Recommended" section.

Perhaps that's a bit of a misnomer.

A couple of days ago I uploaded a very, very small update:
- Guglash shows her training animation again.
- a few typos fixed.

Additionally I've done the same today for Integration (mini update). Nothing major, just to let you know :).

PS: There are no constant summons, sorry.

Hey, very small problem, I've having difficulty getting the alternative script effect icon to work. It was working before I updated to the most recent masterlist for BOSS, which I assume means that this is a load order problem. I tried 'install last' in Bash on just the script effect folder, but it didn't change anything. Is there anything I can do to my load order in order to make the script icon work again, without causing any problems?

Just a quick question as I've had no luck with searching for this. Since firing up Oblivion today, I've been getting a message "Teleportation not currently possible" when attempting to use Mark/Recall. It was working fine yesterday (and for a few days before that), and I've made no changes with new mods or altered load order in the meantime. Has anyone else come across this before? As I'm new to the spell, I wasn't sure if it was a feature!

Ah, good info, thanks. The only thing I can think of is your Integration quest Xivilai in the North - do you have fast travel disabled after encountering her? I ducked into a nearby Ayleid Step to escape and the quest is still on the "immediately attacked" part. I think that's the only current active quest I've dabbled in over the last couple of days that seems like a "better not teleport now" moment. :)

Wanted to ask a question that may or may not belong on this forum and not the CS forum.

first - I still love this mod and RBP too. I really like how the life detect shader is so detailed - that is neat.

What I'm having difficulty with is your choice of colors for life detect. Bright pink! I just don't understand it. I've studied a lot of world religions and explored a lot of esoteric studies - never have I heard of life energy for humans described as pink.

I think Native American Shamans describe pink as the color associated with insects, but the humans are amber. And I just don't like pink for that purpose (or the purpose of receiving damage). I take it that this is the color for mysticism either in LAME or regular Oblivion?

Anyway I want to try my hand at changing that and so I opened up the CS and looked at the effect and found the pink but I cannot figure out what the file path is for the pink shader or where it is. It does not seem to be in the LAME bsa (which I extracted) - is it in the Oblivion - textures.bsa and if so how do I set that file path?

Pink was the choice of Bethesda, not me ;). I merely kept it.

Regarding your question, that's a bit more difficult. See, the reason that LAME has an extra file for Detect Life is that the shader used by Detect Life is hardcoded - but the shader itself can be changed! (All other effect shaders are new, but you can't create a new one for Detect Life, you have to edit the existing one.)

If you're using Bash, make sure that the file isn't ghosted. Then load the .esp for the Detect Life shader. Now in the CS go in the object window (the one listing everything) to EffectShader (kind of hidden, but it's there, under the "Misc." category). If you double click on it, you can directly change the color. Experiment a bit, it's fun!

(And don't mind the particle's color, that should be overwritten by whatever color you choose.)

Teehee, I'll be heading back there soon. My Mystic was feeling incredibly squishy at the time and used the nearby Ayleid Step for a, uh, tactical retreat.

So far I've been completely unsuccessful at changing the color.

I'm one of those who only dabbles with the CS and think that the CS wiki is one of the prime examples on this planet of obtuse writing and half directions. I found this: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Effect_Shader but again, as per very usual with the wiki, it does not give more detailed instructions.

So I tried adjusting the color under the section called membrane shader (not edge and not particle) - the box right under the words "texture animation speed" to a more amber color and saved and still pink as far as the eye can see.

Is this not the right box? what is?

When it comes to the CS you need to be more daring - tinker with everything :D.

There are no less than five color boxes on Effect Shaders - you need to change them all :twirl:.

There's a membrane color (how the skin is tinted), an edge color (how the edges are displayed), and three particle colors (particles can change colors. I don't know if you ever used "Detect Danger", well, the "Medium Danger" changes it's color from a reddish to a yellowish tone). Particles are the "cloudy puffs" around the actor.

Hmmm - well I tired changing all five boxes to a darker yellow color and still the detect life shader is pink; however, when I cast the spell it looks yellow.

Should I be playing with any other effect than 'effectDetectLife' in the Object window?

Just an alert: I did lose all of my starting spells (acquired from the memory spells) except for one upon deactivation/reactivation of the mod.

Resting II or something. I also of course retained the standard flare and healing spells and race-specific spells.

Wrong shader. Correct one is LifeDetected

Just an alert: I did lose all of my starting spells (acquired from the memory spells) except for one upon deactivation/reactivation of the mod.

Not surprising ;).

Oh. I wish him luck in recovering.

But there must be someone who is capable of decoding some of these riddles. :P The first one seems obvious 'The adventure ends were it began' so it must be around the sewer exit. But I searched there and couldn't find anything.

I don't know the answer to this riddle and I'm not saying this is correct, but the adventure really began in the jail cell not the sewer exit. Maybe you could try there?
