[REQz] less chance of getting Porphyric Hemophilia/Vampire m

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 7:55 pm

I've done some looking and can't find anything like what I'm looking for. I would love to have a mod that got rid of the chance of catching Porphyric Hemophilia during a fight. It's annoying when you're in the middle of a huge battle with a bunch of vampires and you don't notice that you've contracted Porphyric Hemophilia. There should be a mod that allows you to catch the disease if you were sleeping in a cave filled with vampires. That or by being turned into one during the dark brotherhood. I just want to have the chance to choose when to become a vampire instead of at random during a fight.

You can play as a Redguard,Argonian,Bosmer,Altmer (they have a resistance to disease) or enchant a item or find a item with resist disease or find a potion or spell. Although it will only reduce the chance to catch Hemophilia.

It's pretty simple to avoid being turned into a vampire, just use a potion of Cure Disease after the battle or clearing the area. Or eat some Mandrake Root, it's not hard to come across that stuff. You don't turn into a vampire right away, you have plenty of time to make sure you're cured of the condition. You just have to remember to take the precaution in case you missed the message. I find it pointless to use a Resist Disease potion since it is so easy to get rid of. I'd have to agree though that Oblivion does a crappy job of informing you when you've contracted something. It's very easy to miss the messages when you're in the middle of a battle. Though you can see it in the Active Effects of your magic page.

Here is the reason I would like a mod like this. I was playing the Frostcrag Reborn quest last night and when i got done i rested in my home and was given the message that I've become a vampire. When I loaded a previous save I didn't see anything about catching the disease. ALSO when I was playing the other night when i was fighting the people below it would tell me if they were vampire or not. Then last night none of the people were labeled as vampire so I figured I was good. It seems to me that if you are fighting a vampire they should be able to infect you unless your health was low. In vampire movie you don't see people get infected unless they were either 1) asleep and a vampire bit them or 2) during a fight when they were weak they were then bit and changed. It's annoying that all it takes is one hit to become a vampire.

I take what ya saying is that ya don't want to become a vampire in battle but by other means? Well, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11083 might bean extreme example of getting the disease in battle but it remove the vampirism effect from that disease. However, this mod would contradict the other mods from the other request ya made.....

There should be a mod that allows you to catch the disease if you were sleeping in a cave filled with vampires.

How about http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27219?

That or by being turned into one during the dark brotherhood.

Ya sure ya already accept http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Darkness_Eternal?

oh nice i like the no vampirism mod. Guess I'll have to use that till I'm ready to be a vampire next time I play. Then just turn it off when I'm ready to be a vampire.

That sounds to me more like a poorly constructed mod than a problem with the condition itself. In the default game it's quite obvious when you're up against a vampire. First of all they're all labelled as Vampire and you can see it their faces. As for the reference to the movies, the game takes place in a different world, Vampires don't have to be like you expect them.
