Hi. I'd like a mod that reduces (by about half) the amount of gold I find in chests. I'm only level 19 and I find between 30 to 50 gold in literally every other chest. I have over 40,000 already and that's even with a very austere NPC loot drop mod.

I've looked for a mod that does this but I can't find anything, so I could have a go at making my own as long as it's relatively simple. Would someone be able to tell me what to edit?

Or, do you know of a mod that does something similar? What I want basically is to make money much harder to come by, and have to work much harder to earn gold.

I think you might like http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25078. It has a lot of options to make you poor...lol. One of them is to reduce the amount of gold you find. But it is much more than just that. My level 12 character has ~1000 gold right now, no house and no horse (except for the Weynon Priory horse). I bought a few training sessions (which are also more expensive than in vanilla if you choose it) and some weapons though, so the total amount of money I would have gotten till now is most likely about 15000.

If you only want to change the amount of gold you find you need to change the leveled list. Just look for the ones with gold in them and reduce the amount.

Thanks for that. I had seen that, it looks perfect for me. But it looks excessively complicated to install and set up. I tried it but I must not have installed it correctly because I purchased a cup costing five gold from a merchant, and suddenly they had 23000 gold. I purchased a dagger and they had 48000 gold. Plus going through the ini and setting all the variables is a headache because you have to know exactly how everything works so you don't set it wrong.

Would you happen to have seen something more simple?
