Lesser known facts about Skyrim

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 3:52 pm

1. Orcs are Elves

2. Dwarves Are Elves

3. Falmer are Elves

4. There are technically no Dragons in this game, Dragons have 4 legs and 2 wings, while Wyverns have 2 legs and 2 wings (Like in Skyrim). Wyverns are a subspecies of dragon which normally has has four limbs. The wyvern has wings instead of arms, much like a bird or a pterosaur and also Wyverns have also been known for their body length, which is unusually longer than a dragon's.

5. Dwemer (Or Dwarves) aren't actually like Dwarves in other games as they are the same height as the other races (Or there about.) They are called Dwarves because of the Giants (Like the ones in Skyrim) found them to be little. They just happened to be the ones the Giants picked for that name. It could have easily been another race that the Giants named that cause compared to them, a lot is of dwarven size.

6. Dragons do not fly completely by Wings, they use Magic.
7. Orcs lived in Skyrim before Nords.
8. Forsworn are a splinter of Bretons.
9. Draugr are the worshippers of Dragon priests and Dragons.. they have a small sliver of eternal life energy and donate it to the Dragon priest effectively making him immortal, when they go back to rest the energy is replenished.
10. The Crypts you enter are not really crypts, they are living spaces and the draugr that were there did not end up their Dead.

Chinese dragons are long have 0 wings and 4 legs so technically they're sausage dogs.

I'll agree on all accounts, except the fourth. That would assume that *other* fantasy lore is correct, in an *Elder Scrolls* setting.
Dragons have as many legs/wings as Bethesda deems it fit to craft them with...in this case, they tacked on two legs/wings and named it "Dragon".

1. Orsimer
2. Dwemer
3. Falmer

Every wyvern is a dragon, not every dragon is a wyvern.

@ Also, dragons look different in every fantasy settings. It's probably impossible to produce a one, true definition of a dragon.

The Elder Scrolls Universe doesn't follow D&D rules. TES Dragons have only four limbs, like a real animal would.

A wyvern is a dragon but a dragon is not a wyvern.

You are wrong about Orcs being elves, they are Mer, basically Orcs, Dwarves and Elves are all Mer but to say Orcs are Elves I believe is incorrect. That would be like saying Argonian and Kahjiit are cousins. While they both are classified as beasts in the lore of Skyrim they are definitely not physically connected.

As such for the Mer while both Orcs and Dwarves are listed in that category under said classification they are listed as Orsimer, or Pariah Folk for Orcs and the Dwarves, or Deep Folk are the Dwarves. The Dwarves are derived from the Elves but the Orcs where created via the Deadric Prince Boethiah. In fact the Aldmer had already colonized the area around High Rock before the Orcs appeared.

My argument is that after this transformation they no longer belonged to the Elvish family, Yes the Orsimer were elves but Orcs are definitely not.
