Let's add everything from FALLOUT!

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 9:49 am

Honestly? Honestly? If you don't understand the lore, history, or the history of the games themselves, do not suggest they just add everything from another franchise they own.

Also, its like 11 months from release. The likelihood of them adding anything new is none, unless they're pushing back the release date.

Not trying to repress people or push down discussion, but please, if you're going to contribute contribute an actual discussion rather then a topic that ends up with spam and/or flaming in the first few pages.

So anyway, is anyone else bothered by the amount of new threads relating to adding Fallout stuff? I give people the benefit of the doubt though with perk threads, and assume they mean Oblivion style perks.

I'm not bothered by it anymore than I'm bothered by all the threads asking for Morrowind 2.0 or suggesting they add unnecessary restrictions to the game
People have their opinions and if they want to have a debate, not a argument. Then it's perfectly fine.

quite honestly Fallout isn't that different from an Elderscrolls, afterall they did take the elderscrolls construction set and just alter it to have guns. The only think I think shouldn't be included is vats, but everything else is pretty good

Suggesting the game be more like morrowind is not quite the same as suggesting it be more like fallout.

Some features of Fallout work particularly well, now i've never been one to suggest the actual content or lore of Fallout should be included in Skyrim, but certainly things like perks, perhaps some of the skills certainly shouldn't be overlooked.

There are always aspects of other games that should be implemented, if something works well, then by all means use it. Not for the sake of 'copying' Fallout, but for the sake of making a good game.

My point was, Skyrim will be it's own game no matter how much anyone wants it to be like past Elder Scrolls titles, Fallout or what have you.

Deathclaws are in Fallout since the first one. (not related to Bethesda)
Daedroths are in TES since Daggerfall

And people who think others that are asking similarities from morrowind/and Oblivion = 2.0 versions are exceedingly silly and dont understand what people mean by asking, I swear the trends in this section of the forum is just getting more ridiculous, as if people ar elosing common sense. and these discussions just get more repedetive and pointless with every passing day.

When people ask for similarities from morrowind/Oblvion/Daggerfall. they aren't saying I want Daggorroblivion 2, they are saying they want the feeling Morrowind gave them when they first played.

That they aren't being guided by a magic omnicient arrow, or hopes that such is toggable.

They want the same sense of discovery amazement and awe that morrowind fielded.

The Variety of weapons and choices to run -their- character, not realize that in the end its no different from any other character that could be made after.

It the Ideal feeling and sense, not a carbon copy of the game, whats so hard to realize about that? like I said, Everygroup has thier points and faults. but no one wants to recognize either of another or themselves....

I always wanted to visit the "poisoned glow-rock" region of Elsweyr, where the warehouse where the Imperials assembled the Numidium is. It'd be like the fantasy version of a nuclear disaster zone.

Or the ruins of Yokuda, where apparently the inhabitants were so good with swords that they had a sword technique to split the atom (not even an extra-sharp sword, just a move they could do with any blade) and they blew the place up.

And of course now there's Vvardenfell. It seems like there's plenty of Fallout to be had in Elder Scrolls already.

Doesnt bother me, some of the mechanics from fallout would work in TES. Some wouldnt.

The threads raging about how Morrowind was the best thing that happened to RPG history bother e more.

But what annoys me most is the "WILL IT JUST BE SNOW?!?!" Threads.

I want the Skyrim to be more like Sonic 3D Blast (Sega Saturn). Or maybe Donkey Kong 64. Yeah. That's the stuff.

Fallout doesn't really interest me. Post-apocalyptic settings, guns, nukes, mutants, etc. don't really do anything for me.

Honestly, would getting to choose from a pool of perks for each major skill harm us when all it does is give us more RPG customization?

I guess it would be too much for the people who only want action and no indepth customization.

If they add SPECIAL, I'd be down with that.

Not like you can choose any perk you want, only those you meet the prereqs for.

No, Just No.

SPECIAL is for Fallout. In The Elder Scrolls, Your race, gender, class and birthsign determines your attributes. Leave it at that.

It's not just some (not all) Fallout suggestions, but other suggestions unrelated to Fallout that are showing up on these forums that are really starting to bother me. Some of these suggestions just DO NOT FIT in with TES.

According to your logic, you shouldn't have started this thread as it really doesn't contribute anything to discussion outside of complaining...
