I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think either of those had any relation to the towers.

the Khajiit aren;t a tower they just serve a similar function.

Do you have any sources where I could read about this? I never fully understood how they could either be a tower or even serve similar to one, and can't seem to find any information on it outwith speculatory threads.

The Khajiit belive they were made to hold up the moons and the lunar lattice, aka what sounds like the barrier between Mundus and Oblivion.

If true they serve a function like the towers in that they support the world.

That line does seem to say that they serve some kind of similar purpose. It does seem very unlikely that they are an actual tower though.
