So let me get this straight...

Well, I guess in some people's taste it would get repetitive but objectives performed by either you, teammates, or enemies will change the map dramatically, so I don't believe that I'll be bored of Brink for awhile.

Oh by the way, its friends, randoms, and bots... they have feelings too.

It may not be as repetitive as you think, seeing as the "Campaign Missions" were designed to be played in multiplayer, or with multiplayer in mind, at least.

You do not have to play them in sequence either, you can play them in any order you want from the beginning, and there is a free play mode which does not follow the sequence of the campaign.

I am actually thankful that the missions are designed to be like a campaign, because it means that each map will have multiple, interesting objectives, rather than a standard game mode.

Also, each mission "stands on their own." Meaning that they can pretty much be played without knowledge of what happened in previous missions, similar to Left 4 Dead.

At least that is my understanding of it.

hmmm... interesting. also, how many fps will this run at? it looks smooth from the gameplay videos, but ive bought many games that look a lot different from there gameplay videos. for example in homefront, the fps drops to about 15 sometimes, which is very terrible. will it be 60 fps?

also.. im still not quite sure how this game wont get repetitive, thank you

I'm a little worried about the repetitiveness as well, but I don't think it'll be any more repetitive than playing the same 10 or so BFBC2 Rush maps over and over again.

I think a quick read through this thread should help you out a little... http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1179383-pressing-multiplayer-concern/

Heh, complaining about repetition in a shooter, while most of those are mostly just playing with friends/randoms and shooting them a lot.

Objectives should keep things interesting and focused. Don't think of it as a campaign because, as Im With Stupid said, it's designed for multiplayer. They're more like distinct levels and game types rolled into one. Although I can see why some would think it's boring, and I can see both sides of it. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays...in less than a month! Wheee. :D

You do not have to play them in sequence either, you can play them in any order you want from the beginning, and there is a free play mode which does not follow the sequence of the campaign.

Either you play Campaign, which makes you play them in the correct order, or you play Free Play which means you go through all maps/missions randomly.

And as a third option, you can choose Stopwatch, which means you play each map/mission twice; once on the side of each faction.

FPS is based on hardware, mainly. Brink could run at 1,000 FPS, if your computer can. As to exact demands, we'll have to wait and see how it runs. There are system requirements floating around now, though, if you want to look.

Sorry. PC gamer here, it didn't even occur to me that you might have meant consoles. ;)

As Franky said, I think it's capped at 30 FPS.

Call of Duty indeed was at 60fps, if I'm not mistaken. But then again Call of Duty looks terrible on consoles.

And it would occasionally drop if there were 2 harriers and a chopper gunner on the prowl.

That really depends on different factors.

Given that BRINK supports a fast-paced playstyle, 60fps are recommended.
But BRINK also wants to look good, so 30fps are a reasonable sacrifice for good graphics.

Consoles will definately have no Anti-Aliasing, neither good Anisotropic Filtering for textures. And definately no FullHD resolution. Perhaps not even HDReady (720p), like Bad Company 2 (which runs at 1024x576, I think).

That's also a list for Xbox Original games, not the 360. Just in case anyone didn't notice that.

Well if you have ever played Bad Company 2. The maps are the same each time. Doing the same objective each time. What makes it fun? The wild and crazy or funny stuff that happens in the matches.

Depends. If you play in interlace (you know the i at the end of the number) then its 30 frames
If you play in progressive (the p at the end of the number) then its 60 frames.
Most games are limited to 30 frames, but most new games today for consoles are running at 55-60 frames per second.

Plus its also rare to play the same map twice the same way.

I wouldn't worry about maps getting repetitive, if something is getting old, just use another character with different class abilities/body type/weapon load out and you practically have an entirely different way to play!

i think the gameplay was designed to be infinitely replayable, where no 2 games should be the same and then you play them with different classes, factions and customisation.

if it lives up to this i can't see how anyone can get bored unless they players themselves have no creativity and keep doing the same things over and over again.

Even Pong is infinitely replayable and no two games should be the same, but it still gets boring. Same goes for just about every single game since, if that wasn't the case then we would all still be playing our favorite game from way back when.

It doesn't really matter if I try to play it differently every time because my actions are going to be dictated by the other 15 players on the map, and we've all seen how randoms flock to the same points in the same way game after game.

I don't get bored with Team objective on Halo, I don't think I will with Brink. Each one has different sub gametypes and maps so yeah.
