Let Me Guess. Someone Stole Your Sweetroll?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 5:45 am

I don't get "No lollygagging." I thought it was a pretty common expression.

It's the new 'Stole a spoon', for getting arrested or executed on ridiculous charges.

For example, an Orc in prison: "I'm in for murder, theft, assault, banditry, embezzlement, smuggling, bedlam, and lollygagging."

The whole point about the arrow to the knee thing is that all the guards have been shot in the knee, which is very silly. It's not too silly for all the guards to tell you to move along or stop lollygagging.

They really should've left out any personal stories from the guards (like getting shot in the knee) because it immediately sticks out as anti-immersive the second time you hear it.

Ok ya got me, I'm the one who shot all the guards in the knees. It's just my thing. Some people like decapitation, some like dismemberment, but I get my kicks out of shooting people in the knees with arrows and ruining there lives and turning them into city guards. And then I steal there freak'n sweetrolls just to be a d i c k.

The arrow to the knee took off so well because it's such an absurd comment for being used by all guards.

So which games had that meme in them before Morrowind?

Also, I don't know about the rest of you, but that line hurts my feelings every time. :sadvaultboy:

They trivialize your pain because they're jealous of your power.

Yeah this. Honestly all the guard lines are made to be pretty fun but to me it's this and the cousin fighting dragons lines that always seemed the silliest, but out of those two the arrow in the knee has a better flow just as an absurd statement.

I think it's still fun, and more importantly whenever I see it on a new collegehumour video or any other video that gets millions of hits, or even obscure videos with only a few, I'm made happy because I think it's awesome Skyrim is getting such wide recognition, recognition which it most definitely deserves.

Actually it one older than Daggerfall, the question was also in Arena's character creation. Now we need to find someone who played Bethesda's Terminator games to see if they had a sweetroll.
