How come this didn't take off like the "arrow to a knee" meme?

Yeah. Sweetrolls have been meme'd for a while now, that's why that line exists.

Also, I don't know about the rest of you, but that line hurts my feelings every time. :sadvaultboy:

I wish you could reply with something like "yes! what the hell you going to do about it now?!"

Sweetroll meme was pretty big I believe, I mean, they even put it in Fallout. I wish the fishy stick meme was still popular :/ I've always wanted to read that book in Morrowind but it was covered in fishy stick sauce.

It has been around almost a decade before Morrowind even...

To be honest, I think it is because "Stop right there criminal scum" was the meme most often youtube commented and that crowd was ready to rally around it's 2.0. There is a thread about Beth forcing cities but I think the public forcing this is much more obvious. There is also the fact that often people who play these type of games have friends who do not so this is the "I play Skyrim too" code for reaching out to others on the Internet.

Edit: I've barely heard the arrow to the knee in game... it' not like it's surefire... while obviously my avatar says I'm biased... I think Nazeem's comment is infinitely more obvious.

I wish "No lollygagging" had caught on more. The cousin line is also good.

I am sorry I stole your sweet roll. I just couldn't help it. I ate it too. But it's the holiday season. So, look on the bright side. You made someone else's tummy feel better.

I don't get "No lollygagging." I thought it was a pretty common expression.

I have plenty of sweetrolls, kma. You tell that guard that you'll think of him the next time you find something useless in your inventory that you can drop to make room for some mammoth cheese.

Perhaps, but it's also kind of silly, at least to me, especially from a city guard to a hardened warrior. I keep wanting to lollygag in the guards' presence just to get on their nerves.

Arrow to the knee is super hot right now. Anyone surprised how quick this took over the internet?

How come "After I kill you, I will [censored] your corpse! Don't worry, I'll be gentle." Never became a meme?

I thought I liked the arrow in the knee meme but then I saw it injected randomly into comments on the MTG Gatherer and YouTube and realized I find it tired and not the least bit amusing.

Because no one put you out of work and placed you as a city guard.

Actually, I find the sweetroll line very irritating. I mean, the first couple of times I heard it I was giggling that the worked in a sweetroll reference, as well as the food item. But it very quickly became annoying to have guards in every town ask me that. Maybe it's the mocking way they say it.

The last guard who did it to me? I shot her in the knee with an arrow.

Because it's not as [censored]. The 12 year old youtubers need something to spam every video with.

Didn't know it started in Morrowind because I never played it... YET. (I plan on trying to find a copy very soon).

I started TES with Oblivion. Althought the 1st time I heard a guard say that.. I INSTANTLY thought and knew Fallout 3. Made me feel extremely giddy inside cause I love pummeling Butch in the beginning :D

That's where that meme has heart for this forum goer, Fallout 3.
