That wouldn't hurt either.
About how the lore could fit in the gaming, that's a bit harder thing. If something is wrong lore-wise, or if something is right and reminds the player of a particular event (e.g. seeing the Red Mountain -> telling about the Battle of Red Mountain) or mechanism (e.g. seeing Masser and Secunda and "stars" in the sky), that would be told. I'd gladly even hear some things that the "lorist" can think of even if it doesn't have anything to do with the gaming context at that time.
The start of the game could, for example, tell about the current political situation and why is that, tell some general history of Vvardenfell, and place these things on the timeline. Something along these lines. Whatever comes to the player's mind, really.
