Disclaimer: ***This is not an attack on Crytek or Crysis but Simply the OPs opinion. I acknowledge that not everyone will agree and that few will troll. Trolls will not be fed but will only be wasting their own time in trying to argue about everything and anything. I encourage any respectable human being's feedback and personal opinion. No flamewars please. Enjoy!***

Hey Noobs, this is a daily, or mostlikely weekly, post I will be starting on here. No worries guys, I will try my best not to spam you the same recycled garbage you have already heard. Nevertheless, im sure you guys have all heard the complaints regarding patches released by crytek for Crysis 2(the mostest awesomeness game evar made!) But, like every great game ever made there are issues(unless your name is MGS4)

My problem: I have yet to notice any difference from when the game first release, in terms of bugs etc. I mean I have read all the Patch notes, downloaded all the patches, to only find that everything mentioned has not been fixed, and yes, I made sure I had the latest patch installed. I don't get it! For example, there is an issue in the main menus where two music tracks start playing over each other(multiplayer main menu) Crytek has acknowledged this issue and have "released patches to fix the issue" but the problem persist. My question is, WHY? Dont get me wrong i am not angry, I'm confused if anything. Patch after patch has been released for what? Possibly to quiet the people down, hell, maybe its to give crytek more time to release the mother of all patches that will make us cry with joy. At this point in time, I can only say I HAVE NO IDEA ON WHAT THE F**** IS GOING ON.

All in all, I love this game. I will continue to play it and will continue to support the Crytek team. Admittedly, I acknowledge the fact that some of Crytek's practices and information have been questionable. All im simply asking is Why is this happening? Why have most of the issues claimed to be fixed still present to this day?

AND THAT IS REAL! Catch you guys later!! *insert epic outro music*

Nothing has been fixed and nothing will be fixed.

Thankfully your post wasn't developed by crytek or your outro music would be so loud I'd need new laptop speakers.

There was a nice, sweet little patch once upon a time, but it got eaten by a bigger patch, never to be seen or heard from again.

Sorry, for Sarcasm.

In my opinion I'm sure this game will be fixed eventually. People have said there are A LOT of bugs do you think all that can be fixed in 2 months? Probably not seeing all the bugs there are and I'm sure are complicated to fix. Actually, in the 2 months we've gotten 2 patches and a hotfix. Are Crytek that useless? No. They're obviously listening and nowadays it just seems that people are getting angrier at the lack of response now than the actual issues.

I have patience.

I just want the grain glitch to be patched. That is all. Then it's smooth sailing for me into Crysis 2 waters.

I'm not too bothered about the Grain glitch, I can live with that (I know others will disagree).

What I cannot live with is the Network Coding being so bad causing laggy games.

The little issues (what I deem little) I'm not too bothered about, but as Multiplayer is where it's at I'd love that to be finally fixed with proper Network Coding - this game would be the best out there then.

yupyup234 - I am afraid I agree with you, I am sceptical that these issues will ever be fixed.

Over to you Crytek, prove us wrong.

I think we do have patience, if we didn't we wouldn't still be here. But you are right about it not being so much that there are bugs, but more to do with the lack of response about progress that angers people.

Can the game be fixed in 2 months, I don't think anyone here thinks that, we have been saying so for long enough, but what we do expect is at the very least a small part of it to be fixed, what we do expect is a small official update as to progress or lack off.

To be honest, I don’t really think we care which it is just as long as it’s progress, some sort of official conformation.

I thought we had been given a hotfix plus one patch, I didn’t realise we had received two patches plus a hotfix?

I found this earlier, it came from a thread that was directed at Cry-Sam, which Cry-Sam in turn closed. Which he was quit right to do, but what he says here speaks for it’s self;

Regarding the actual subject; I'm now working on other projects, so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to (nor be allowed to give out) any new information on Crysis 2. The guys here who are working on future updates and bugfixing do read the forums though, so rest assured that your complaints aren't going unheard.

I believe it is company policy that they are not allowed to interact with this forum, I have never seen a dev or a beta tester post here so I would also assume that they have there own private forum and that all game and bug related discussions are made there.

I have read on this forum, and not by Crytek, that 57% of Crysis 2 sales came from the 360. What I really can’t figure out is, why are Crytek treating us like this, especially when so many have left in protest against this and called Crytek out?????

The problem is that we are not dealing with a game developer, we are not dealing with modders, what we are dealing with is in fact a corporation.

This is why we are loosing the Crysis 2 360 gaming community.
This is why people are angrier than usual.

I agree with the OP, and many who say communication is what is pissing most of us off.
Bungie and other large developers have shown they can both listen to and communicate with players. If not directly on forums, at least using their Home and News pages. Even with unreleased gametypes and patches, they still keep us in the loop. This type of service is why even when they mess up players still forgive them and support their products.

Now let's look at the patch notes for the 360 and how Crytek handles things.

Crysis 2 360 Patch

A new Crysis 2 360 patch has been released today and we'd like to share with you the changes that are included.

360 Changes:
  • ? Stability improvements.
Um..... like what exactly? Made the bugs even more stable at being buggy?

  • ? Fixed player losing Nano Catalyst points after restarting the game.
Wasn't an issue for me so can't say if it is fixed, but having random MP abilities reset to level 1 with 0 score is a problem I have.

  • ? Objectives are returned if they end up in forbidden areas.
Again not seen this myself so can;t say if it is fixed.

  • ? Fixed various weapon exploits.
Like what? Aim hacks? Because since this patch I've still seen them myself. But hey, no way to report them, and the reporting options outlined here don't work as 360 users can't record clips like HALO Reach.

  • ? Fixed exploit where player is able to continuously pick up and return the relay.
Not sure if it is fixed, but have read players saying it still occurs.

  • ? Fixed a rare issue where autoaim, stealth kill and grab would not work on an AI.
Aim Assist always seemed to work, but I prefer to do my own aiming. As stealth and grab was randomly bugged dunno if it's fixed.

  • ? Fix for invites being accepted during level loading.
    Read black screen invite below.......

  • ? Fix for mute settings not being retained.
I only muted one or 2 people who I never played again so did the settings remain? I have no idea.

  • ? Fixed an issue where Deflection bonus would carry over into the next round.
What? the deflection bonus actually did something to begin with? Could of sworn it never deflected anything for me

  • ? Fixed an issue where players would sometimes remain stuck in a blank screen after accepting a game invite.
As all my friends have stopped playing I have no one to test this out with as I no longer get invites. But it did occur for me before then.

  • ? Fixed an issue where some unlocked items would be locked on subsequent SP campaigns.
And added more attachments preventing them from being all unlocked along the way it seems according to menu numbers.

  • ? Fixed an issue with weapon skins on the customise weapon menu.
Yes because weapon skins are damn important in a menu. More so than say them falling apart.

  • ? Fixed an issue where weapon zoom would sometimes not work correctly.

But left it looking all weird when cloaked occasionally.

We are aware that this patch does not include a fix for the grain bug that many of you are experiencing but we are working on this issue and will hopefully have it resolved soon.

- gamesas Team

Define soon? 1 month, 2 months? a year?

And no mention of any other issue being addressed than a simple grain bug........

No mention that this patch can add new bugs like controller sensitivity problems.
or
AI that now acts even stupider than before. (it may of walked off cliffs and into walls until it died, saw me cloaked, but at least it responded to me now it's like they're all doped up.)
or
Takes longer to find matchs (but that's probably due to everyone quitting)
and....
well stuff that can be found all over the forums and I'm sick of repeating myself.

All in all from what I have read and seen, the patch has fixed nothing and at 4mb what do we expect? This game needs at least a 200mb patch before I am convinced anything at all has been repaired.

Point is this game SHOULDN'T NEED A PATCH at least not for SP, it should of been released on time and not early and working. Paranoia over them not being able to secure their own game from being leaked caused them to screw us over by releasing early before the game was finished in order to cash in.

NEWS FLASH! PC games get pirated straight away on release anyway, those who pirate will, the rest of us buy the game, so I don't think you would of lost any money Crytek.

Wikipedia says "ooo ps3 and xbox's get hacked now" big woop most of them can't play online for risk of being banned. So the majority of gamers will buy the legit product for the full experience.

But hey, Crytek caught a bunch of cheaters, and did they get banned? no they got reset. What message are they trying to send?

Now 2 months later no working game, and DLC we're expected to pay for even though you can stop playing and not lose rank, that's how many people are still on, to make matters worse they release codes on FB so one or 2 people can get them free. SOrry Crytek that's what companies like Bungie do for products that work, companies with **** product and dying online give it away like Brink.
As I said before it's called listening to the customers and public relations.

When you go home and have dinner tonight think who is paying for that meal? We the gamers, YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Seriously any potential developer out there should look at Crytek and Crysis 2 as a guide for how not to develop video games.

And I'll leave it there, because I could go on all day and never has a game pissed me off to such an extent, but I think it is just better for me to walk away at this moment or I'll probably smash my copy of the game , because I would feel like I would be ripping someone off if I resold it.

But yeah I wouldn't feel this way if some better communication was going on, because then I would know what to do in regards to staying or getting off the ride here.

/end rant

PS:forums broken again too. Can only quick post then have to edit to get full featured post.

I'd like Crytek to make a start, and do 1 patch purely to improve the Network Coding.

That would be a good start for them.

I agree, the patches do not fix the problems they say they do. I dont think the developers understand all the problems. I know for a fact that a lot of these fixes are quick fixes that only need to be edited in 1 place. It's like ssi where all of the game coding references a master file. They miss out on how their edits are not going to translate to in game changes that stick, even after future edits. It's an oversight bordering on a failure by management.

Quite possible. It would explain why some things they have claimed to have fixed in fact are not.

Instead of us asking why this and why that isn't making the game better I wish Crytek would talk to us.

wouldnt you just need to tweak things on the server side? I dont think network coding requires a patch. I can be wrong though

This shows they have alot more experience in the PC department. I read somewhere this is cryteks first venture into console gaming, so having found that out, i am much more forgiving and understandable to their current crisis with fixing the console troubles. I just hope they dont give up and continue to work on getting the issues fixed and be ready when crysis 3 comes out.
