A pacific ending? Is the NCR going to rush in and save the day or something?

Not NCR of course, but people thinks they want something where Institute, Minutement, Brotherhood and Railway get peace with no war

Without destruction of the Institute, the Brotherhood airship and / or the slaughter of Railway.

No problem, happens to me all the time :)

On DLC I wouldn't mind seeing something like new land forming as a result of tremors and earthquakes caused by nuclear detonation. Like an entire island forming off the coast of new england and being settled by new settlers or being settled by colonists trying to escape europe and the UK.

I think an Earthquake event caused by the bombs will be very hard, unless the bombs were detonated inside the earth, or with anti bunker warhead .

In the first case, as in Lonesome Roads, the Divide is a great example of how "some" hundred nuclear warheads, can create a great earthquake capable of splitting the land into two. But an island? It seems difficult. Unless it is directly set on an island. Then maybe there is still possibility.
In the second case, well, only scratch the surface, without any "real" earthquake. Only an artificial earthquake that does destroy even the basemant.

I wouldn't mine seeing a free DLC that allows us to make faction alliances, the endings are sorta Sith "you either with me or against me" and it just sit well that there was no way to get the factions to see eye to eye lol.

As for DLC post ending, I would like to see maybe F03 Mothership Zeta have a negative effect on the wasteland with maybe an Alien Invasion. Maybe have us invade an Alien outpost/base and get different kinds of Alien guns like Alien Sniper and Alien shotty, as if Alien guns werent already powerful enough lol. I just love the Alien DLC from FO3 and its my favorite dlc lol.

Settlement DLCs, particular ones that allow us to turn Vaults into safe living spaces and build an outside Settlement on top of the Institute if you sided with them, this could work for Railroad if you side with them. Also allowing Settlement expansions, particular combining two settlements that are close together like Sanctuary and Red Rocket lol. Particularly the expansion part would allow us to make smaller settlements bigger too and give us more room in small Settlements, like Outpost Zimjorga( the one that looks like a RadioTower icon on the map in the northern map).

I knew what you meant, I was just being facetious. ^^

Anyway, I really wish people would stop bringing up that idea already. The thought that it could ever happen is a pipe dream. There's no way for the three main groups (not counting the Minutemen) to make peace without seriously compromising some of their core beliefs. It would take some serious rationalization to get it to even remotely work and that is something I don't want to see Bethesda do.

I very much doubt that we'll see anything at all that changes the ending or revolves around the three main factions or characters in them. Anything involving those would be locked off to anyone that had already picked a different faction or killed that character, unless they restarted the game.

The problem is, why it is necessary to kill them all? Because we can not "avoid" to shed blood, and thus destroy the Institute?
He wonders technological knowledge, even medicine that could help the citizens of Boston, and perhaps of the entire America. Instead, all prefer to blow up. But why, instead; you could not safely "put down" the "synth factory", talking with scientists who are against the project "synth" and fully concentrate their efforts on something that would allow the reconstruction of the US, without creating IA identical to man ?
Practically change management.
Think about it:
With Minutement, become as it was before the bombs, a university, and share his knowledge to help the people of the Commonwealth
With the railway, I think there is a risk that they become what they hated, becoming a new Institute, being aware of the horrors and errors that have committed the Synth, issued by them and by the same Institute
With the Brotherhood, it assimilates the place, turning it into another stronghold, and keep all the technology itself. Developing all weapons of war production.
Yeah, in the end, don't blow up the Institute. There is still a chance for this fantastic structure.

DLC ideas

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1566056-dlc-ideas/

The civilian of the institution trying to resettle but need help (be like Hearthfire DLC in skyrim)

I like to see DLC where there are more crafting settlement items like a Brick furnace, Cotton Gin, Tanning Rack, etc. Also, proper wall and roofs.

I love to see Virgil and Dr. Li (if not rescued or recited) relocated to a resettlement or the base of operation to continue their experiments to improve humanity.

Have certain companion send back to starting locations (Piper back to Nat, Valentine to his detective agency, etc.)

They actually have a made ending that is in the game but inaccessible that PC players can access for not all the factions needing to be killed. I think it is mainly one with killing the institution but still its there. People have posted it on youtube.

Anything interfering with endgame is a no-no. Μainly because it means something will be inaccessible to some players who have decided certain things endgame and have invested hours upon hours on their character (not all players like this multiple characters and playthroughs ordeal).

Even if they do something considering one faction, ie the sea research facility of the Institute, it could be done with any of the factions, that would be a nice choice.

Also I would like to have an Enclave based dlc, either them straightforward asking for your help as a declining faction or without revealing their identity, certainly turning against you in the end, them wanting only your help to find the long lost secret research facility of the closed Cyborg Division director and their T-IN Power Armor Variant.

Finally, a settlements based dlc, with a series of quests revealing new mechanics and stuff to build, a small one in general, would be very nice. Faction specific items would be nice, although endgamers would be hard to get them.

As for other content, any full fledged dlc should have at least 3 new weapon categories (melee, smal, big), a new armor set, at least 2-3 sidequests and probably a new radiant. At least one of them should have one new power armor.

And, of course, more enemy levels. At 100+ level survival difficulty is borderline enjoyable in terms of any challenge.

Chances are they won't have a DLC that strictly deals with the endgame. They might do a completely new questline that changes based on your progress in the main quest and who you side with, or a new questline that you can follow with the existing factions.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet: The story to Point Lookout was about the rivalry between Dr. Calvert and Desmond Lockheart, and at the end of it Desmond mentions heading north to pursue someone else involved in the "Great Game", something he calls a microcosm of the old world. I don't know if we'll see Desmond again (man I hope so, even if he was killable), but there's a good possibility they'll continue that story arc with DLC for Fallout 4. There's a lot of spurious info on this "Great Game" from the Fallout 3 strategy guide, though, I don't know how much of that can be taken for hints.

edit: oh snap. We could meet an advlt Nadine adventuring with the Dutchess Gambit and have another Point Lookout style adventure.

Another thought: I'm still completely expecting a new landmass up to the detail of what they've added in their Elder Scrolls expansions, but it might not be too much work for them to also add an extra landmass that's got fewer locations and quests associated with it, but waaay more in the way of workshop locations. I think I would really like that.

Fallout game that doesn't set in America would lose the 50s' American appeal. I would rather for them to not go there.

I'm assuming you failed the quest of BoS before Blind Betrayal. The MM ending assume you did the Blind Betrayal since other BoS members will talk about it as if you did it.

I guess by peace option it doesn't neccessary need to be peaceful, it could just be an option that allows you to take over the Institute instead of blowing it up. Using high Charisma or Charimsa checks to decided whether you kill the other factions versus force their hand to complete pull out if checks fail than you obviously have to go the original games route. It would allow people to invest in a more peaceful way of playing the game too. war, war never changes unless I have high charisma :D I do feel Charisma is wasted in that aspect of the game, can talk everything else down but can't stop another nuke from going off are you for real.

So I guess Peaceful option would really just mean not blowing everything up lol

I really think if you want a good metric for deciding what ideas might work and which ideas should be struck from the list would be to look at Skryim's DLC.

Skyrim had the main quest to defeat Aldrin, the civil war that made you choose sides and the four guild quests. Arguably, that seems to be more than Fallout 4 has going on at the same time. It had 3 DLCs: Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. Out of those three, none of them touched any of the original story lines in any meaningful way.

Dawnguard expands the world of Skyrim by adding new locations throughout the world. It also adds two new factions and a storyline that runs parallel to the original ones. It doesn't intersect or alter any of the other quests.

Hearthfire allowed you to build houses, thus also expanding the world. It alters or adds dialogue to existing NPCs and creates a reward for three of the minor Hold Thane quest lines. However, it does not touch or alter any of the major storyline or NPCs.

Last there is Dragonborn. Dragonborn doesn't expand Skyrim, but rather adds an entirely new landmass. Fortunately you are also able to easily travel back and forth between the two lands so it doesn't feel isolated. It adds entirely new NPCs and a new storyline. Of the three, it has the strongest connection to the original storyline, but really is more related to your nature as a Dragonborn and not the fight against Aldrin. While the quests give you new shouts, armor, weapons, etc, none of it has any real impact on the original storylines.

So what do all of them have in common? Several things, really. First, none of them impact or alter the original storylines. None of them are dependent or affected in any meaningful way (outside of dialogue options) by the choices you made in the base game. Because of this, though, no matter where you are in the base game, no matter what choices you made, no matter which factions you sided with, when the DLC launched you could enjoy them to the fullest. Well, as long as your level was high enough. You were not required to load a previous save to experience them. You were not required to alter your choices (with one exception being the Companions and comparing). You certainly were not required to restart your game.

I would expect any DLC for Fallout 4 to follow those same guidelines. They will not alter the original storylines in any meaningful way. They will not be dependent on any of the choices you made in the base game. And most importantly, no matter where you are in the game, no matter who you sided with, as long as your level is sufficient, you'll be able jump right in and enjoy the DLC to the fullest the moment it launches.

If a DLC idea does not fit those, it can probably be struck from the list of possibilities.

Well you are right on the dlc thing but we can all dream.

I would advocate another Alien dlc because I want more Alien weapons, maybe have us stop a second Alien Invasion since one in the history things seem to indicate that we stopped one on the moon lol. Our planet is ripe for the taking and its not easily defendable not to mention I am sure our Vault 101 dweller pissed them off. I would imagine an Alien Base that they estabished on Earth would be a good location for such a dlc, something that indicates we are stopping another attempt of theirs to take our planet you know. Not to mention Aliens, who doesn't wanna kill more green blooded creatures.

And don't forget their Abominations, and their robots yeah.

Also i still think Vault Dweller is in space with Elliot Tercorrien and fight the aliens in Space. And maybe just in time before another invasion.

But hey, i don't think they will made the "more of the same". Because they said they will work on the dlc that people wants. So Maybe is possible they will considers our "wishlist" and making a lot of dlc. And maybe is a good idea buy the season pass, only if we saw tons and tons of DLC in sale.

And don't forget Fallout is Fallout and TES is TES.

If you remind what kind of DLC they did for Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, maybe you could realize:

-1 dlc with a new quest and new locations

-1 dlc with new houses

-1 dlc with a new map

well in a similar way for every games; BUT in Fallout 3 and New Vegas we got new maps to explore and interact. And only in New Vegas even a dlc with tons of new weapons and mods So what's the problem, if is possible we get the same even for Fallout 4, or even more?

I would say underwater DLC is 100% guaranteed, there's already the vault tech outpost in the sea next to Spectacle Island, not to mention the hidden harpoon gun and quest. There is probably at least one DLC continuing the main story (like Broken Steel) and one or several taking place in new areas around Boston...

I'm also kinda hoping Mothership Zeta won't return, since I want to do it myself :D

The Unstoppables dlc/ faction is not up there? No return of Grag-na-rok? I'm on the wrong forum. Mistress of Mystery, Manta Man, and the Inspector expanded? Silver shroud role reprise? Commie-Kazi, Dr.Brainwash and ! Grag-Na-Rok !

I'm on the wrong forum since this is not up there.

Hey, I want "Enter the Raider" DLC which lets you 'disguise' and join the Raiders and Gunners and get to know the story about them.

Now location off Commonwealth is very much desired.

Well, you would not have to worry about losing the American 50s feel with anything set in Canada. It is not as if there was an invisible barrier that prevented ideas, concepts, TV shows, radio broadcasts, merchandise, etc. from crossing the border. Besides, America forcibly annexed Canada before WWIII.
