OP should also add expansion of Institute type of DLC. I imagine Bethesda will want to add some new gadgets ( plasma weapons, cybernetics ) , maybe a major main quest shifter and several unique quests for them

They also gain mine.

ALIENS
Dude, I would really dig abbey of the road, because these muhfuggahs need jesus.
i had this idea that i would like aliens invading the common wealth as an extra faction , spawning inside other enemy groups you should take them out fast because they possesing this magical gun that they aim at 1 of the enemy,s and lazerbeaming them in an mega sized verzion of that enemy "behemoth size" ultra strong and a real danger .
so pretty unrealistic but fun and danger
Basically more giant monsters?
But i'm curios, what about a new monster? Maybe something like cannibals. But only obsessed with supermutants. They can't be like a sort of new drug for them, and transform in to a new type of supermutant?
I think it would be amazing if they had a DLC in Florida with mutant gators or something. It could be in Orlando and you could see the ruins of DisneyWorld. Or maybe one that takes you back to the capital wasteland since there are people from there in the game( notably MacCready and Doctor Li) who came to the Commonwealth. Those are my ideas let me know yours!
That would be Mothership Zeta 2. But hey, there are still a lot of frozen people in that ship. Who knows in what kind of era or time they are from.
Also a possible revenge, after the events of Mothership Zeta. Maybe what we destroy, was only a "space patrol".
They should stop developing Fallout games then
Why purchase an IP when you're not going to stick to the core tenants and lore. They could have saved money and time by just creating their own franchise, but they purchased Fallout lore, confirmed that lore, reiterated that the series was about humanity in Fallout 3 and then released Mothership Zeta which contradicts it all. As the post you quoted mentioned: Everything from Fallout 1-New Vegas (excluding Mothership Zeta) was about humanity. Everything was a product of humanity and their nature.
The Elder Scrolls is a fantasy game with magic, so let's get rid of the magic and fantasy setting too while we're at it. If I wanted aliens I'll play Halo since I already have every game and book. Seriously though your comment pretty much sums up what their business strategy looks like: Screw the lore, IP and fans of previous games since we can make more money by drawing in newer fans. **Note that I jumped on board with Fallout 3 since I was a fan of Morrowind and Oblivion
The problem is: that dlc is canon. Aliens are real in the fallout universe
The Abbey of the Road seems the most logical candidate for a DLC feature. Its even mentioned in Fallout 3 to not be far from The Commonwealth. Just West of it, if I recall correctly.
All depends on how much Bethesda wants to get in to real-world religions. Since focusing a DLC on a Catholic Abbey might not be the most PC.
Then again, Honest Hearts did well with Mormonism. So who knows?
I'd love to see it personally though.
Im a mainer, its near mass, so why not? Giant radioactive lobsters or something.
I say, when is fallout going to travel to china? Have they ever shown middle america?
This, there is no way they wont use it when its the only other place up north even remotely suggested to have anything interesting in it.
Raul in New Vegas mentions Mexico City getting hit hard in the war, though not as bad as D.C. and Bakersfield. He says the crime, which was already bad, got even worse, but that was immediately after the war.
In recent news? nothing.
I bet this abbey is something along the line of inquisition and prosecutes heretics and what not. Could be interesting, especially if we could join them.
Marcella claims they go out and find old holy relics like old churches, and to spread the faith, but she doesn't do any inquisition stuff.
You mean it might not be easy, it's definitely simple.
Pirates/Water stuff in general. I really wanna explore the sea and Fallout 4 is a great chance for us to do so in the Fallout universe.
More playable games. Possibly even return of games from New Vegas (like casino stuff). Maybe even make pool playable.
Nah. Its just a post-apocalyptic Catholic Abbey. Probably based on "A Canticle for Leibowitz".
Marcella is pretty humble. And like Awesome said, all the Abbey appears to be doing is spreading the faith and gathering relics. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they are a bit of the "Followers of the Apocalypse" of the east coast as well. Rendering medical aid etc.
They might have some sort of http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/deadliestfiction/images/2/20/Knight-of-st-john.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150713032540 for protection but I doubt they'd be out to purge unbelievers. Marcella certainly doesn't seem the type.
I'm 90% sure we'll see something of the Abbey.
If its not the main feature of one of the DLCs, I'd bet money we'll at least either meet members of the order (wandering missionaries), or perhaps encounter an Abbey outpost.
Can't wait.
Would love additional content for companions, both quests and romance stuff.....and be able to get Danse out of his power armor on console.
Also a new area and new enemies would be nice. And some clean settlement furniture/walls lol.
Yeah, but, every order has their radicals and puritans.... so, who knows. Honestly I don't see the appeal of the supposed faction if all they'll do is help the sick and injured. Some sort of internal conflict or divination that will introduce us to more of the radical parts of the abby. Unless they decide to connect abbey's love for old artifacts with something along the line of dunwich borers, and turn it into a cosmic horror esque type of a DLC where you'd explore a parch of the especially atmosferic and dark part of the wastleand with old gothic castles and so. Which I would like.
What speaks against a sandbox mode?
Bethesda could it do easy. Many players would appreciate to play who ever they want ( i don't mean perks, equipment, dialogs. I mean to have no past), in addtition some big side quests ( enclave, aliens, raiders etc.)
I think many players would look forward about a sandbox mode.
For them. not sure, but still think they can be part of a Lovecraft DLC
And we have to fights the force of evil in the name of justice.
