Let's Remind Everyone...

Post » Mon Jul 11, 2011 8:50 am

The mood on this forum from a small portion of users is ridiculous. Those who are simply criticising the game are in the right, but on the other hand... there are a few people whining about how Skyrim isn't perfect. Let's remind them why Skyrim WILL be a badass game.

1. It's the freaking Elder Scrolls

2. You get to beat the crap out of huge dragons

3. Dual wielding whatever you want.

4. A team of 8 working on dungeons.

5. 70ish voice actors

6. It's Skyrim. Talk about a rugged environment. It'll be an RPG at its best.

7. No omnipotent guards

8. More types of armor

9 SMITHING!

10. [Supposedly] larger main cities.

And so, so much more

P.S. Sorry, I just got myself excited again...

The deal was sealed when it was announced. I nearly cried.

Edit: Definitely pre-ordering the CE. I got 100 dollars to spend on it. My parents ought to have the rest covered.

Will Skyrim likely be the GOTY? Probably.

Will it defenitely? No, there are other possiblities. Most of your ideas was just taken from Bethesda's mouth. Im not calling Bethesda a liar, but ive learned not to judge games until they are out. Please don't say "Its the freaking Elder Scrolls", that doesn't make it a dead giveaway as the GOTY, other games have won GOTY which are going up aginst it now. Other things you said were completely opion-based. Just because you like smithing (even though little info has been announced about it) doesn't mean the GOTY judges will.

Skyrim will not be GoTY, it will be Game of The Two Years, Game of The Three Years, and possibly GoTFY, Game of The Four Years. Get it right. :P

Skyrim has been GotY 2011 since it was announced. Just like Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3, Bethesda just makes great RPG's. :tes:

[EDIT] Plus the competition isn't that strong. Uncharted 3 will be good but I don't think it will get it, and Batman will be pretty good, the largest part of everything else is shooters which generally don't win GotY.

My only worrys have been temporally carmed till we see the finish ui and can see if all the values are there for the good stuffs, everyone has there own what makes tes great list and I'm sure everyones will be at least half full. A pretty tall order for any game designer Beth always deliver better than any other game I've bought for years. :tes:

Just an innocent little nitpick, but how exactly does rugged terrain make it a "RolePlaying Game at its best"?

Don't think so, imo. I think Bethesda has it it them to make a decent game, but there's nothing in their track record that shows they have what it takes to make a GOTY

List of games that will win GOTY:

Skyrim
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Gears of War 3
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Batman: Arkham City
Battlefield 3
Bioshock Infinite
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
RAGE

This is because there is no singular publication that gives out the one big Game of the Year award. There's hundreds of websites and magazines out there, all of which will name at least one of these titles their Game of the Year. Why? They're big-budget titles that are highly anticipated.

Me? Why I've been in Edmonton, Alberta. Canada, you know. What's that's got to do with Skyrim's dismal GOTY chances? :celebration:
