Let's see your settlements! (and how you built them)

I put this in spoilers in case anybody was concerned that their pictures might have spoilers in them.

So, I've just barely begun to play with the settlement feature but plan on really diving into it very soon. This community has some of the most creative people around so I'd love to see what some of you have done with your settlements, how you're going to continue expanding if you are and any building or other tips and tricks you may be able to pass on!

So, let's see some pics of your handiwork!

Do people have a favourite location for your 'scooby gang'? Or do you split them up?

I'll definitely add some pics once I get home- the castle is THE place to build. Protip- use the concrete foundation to rebuild the walls, and do some quests/let time pass so the mirelurk crap is cleaned out.

i like the drive in for all that flat land too bad about the radioactive lake in the middle. but i weet old-school style and put up a square wall around the whole perimeter and set it up as an artillery base...and then i realised the artillery range svcked and had to make 5 more bases lol.

@DrwHem you can go into building mode and scrap those radio active barrels getting rid of the radioactive pond. Then you can put in a water purifier.

P.S. I did the same thing and built a fence around it until I saw a random screen shot of someone's settlement there with a water purifier in the pond.

This is my Sanctuary "peasant" hotel for any settlers or refugees. It's a work in process. I wanted to get the size up and going and beds in it first. It's the max floors I can put in (4 not including the roof landing which makes about 4.5), 22 beds. Using wood prefab. Stairwell inside goes all the way up to the roof, all rooms powered, third floor is a game room with pool table, first floor is a dining room with checkin desk, and juke box. Vendors outside first floor and on fourth floor. Merchants are across the street. I'm working on getting more lights outside and tossing some balconies up on it and snazzing it up some with more decoration. Making the street a sort of strip with lots of lights, merchants, a classy hotel, and down the street a bit is a HQ for myself and followers.

This is what I've got so far in the game room. Needs more filling out and decoration as resource permits.
