*Scumbags BoS
There, fixed it for you.
You're welcome
I hope there's more non-combat interactions to be had. Im sure my character being a BOS man will put him in direct conflict with many of the people of Far Harbor, those atom cultists and synths, but I am sure the local wastelanders could prove themselves to him.
I like the design, but I think if that concept ever made it as far as game content it would inevitable be adjusted to fit appropriately on the power armor frame, and mix & match effectively with the other models. Might look cooler, but I don't think it would look the same.
What might happen is that there are already faction operatives established on Far Harbor, and we rendezvous with them to handle the storyline. Like a Courser, or a human from the SRB, sent to recover the motherlode of escaped synths.
Oh, what I meant was a hi-tech design based off of an old-school concept. A musket, that's a laser. Or even basically the Minutemen themselves. A chargeable plasma musket/blunderbuss would be sweet, admit it.
Nah, i got it right the first time.
I hope to capture any Railroad members left and leave them in a cage with a Mystic Deathclaw, Vampire Bloodbug, and Marcy Long.
I want a wrist mounted shotgun, or a gauntlet that can shoot plasma/projectiles.
On your spoilery bit:
Time for some Google Earth!
...that is, assuming Far Harbor is based off Bar Harbor as someone mentioned

Again, just speculation!
Dude...I just noticed there is a cove under Bar Harbor called "Cromwell Cove"...

Marcy Long?! You monster. That is surely a crime against humanity ...
I have some thoughts about the new factions being added in this DLC and what their motivations might be.
The settlers might just be regular people like those in the commonwealth and the minutemen, but if they do have some kind of agenda the possibilities for what that might be are endless.
The Children of Atom, along with the Gunners, are one of the minor factions I would have liked to see fleshed out more in the base game, so i'm happy about their inclusion. Perhaps through this DLC we'll find out why they seem to be immune from the effects of radiation. Maybe they discovered a vaccine/immunization against the effects of radiation?...
The secret synth colony is the most interesting to me though, and is the faction I have given the most thought to. Almost certainly they will require some exposition from either the railroad or the institute depending on whether they are institute synths or free synths. Given what we know about the Railroad, it seems very unlikely that there's a whole colony of free synths out there that they don't know about. 3 Possibilities I've come up with for this faction are:
- That they are, in fact, a colony of Gen 1 and Gen 2 synths. I don't think anyone has brought this up yet but it would be a very interesting idea, and perhaps it would provide an opportunity to give us some more background about Valentine as he doesn't seem to neatly fit into any of the 3 synth gens we see in the Commonwealth.
- That this is where the Railroad sends synths that don't want their memories erased. This explanation makes sense given that the colony is 'secret', and i'm sure not all escaped synths would want their memories erased. It also makes sense for the railroad to think that those synths who know they are synths would be in danger living among humans, and to therefore set up a colony for them.
- That they are rivals/enemies to the Railroad. It's pretty obvious that the Railroad is anologous to the underground railroad of pre-Civil War USA, therefore Bethesda might take the synths = African American metaphor even further. The colony might be anologous to the Black Panthers/ Black Nation offshoot of the Civil Rights movement, believing in synth supremacy and that synths shouldn't live together with humans. Perhaps they are an offshoot of the Railroad who broke away due to their difference in ideology.
I like that idea, a colony of synths that consider themselves superior to humanity. The Brotherhood's main fear is synths eventually overtaking humans, so seeing a DLC centered around that is certainly interesting.
edit: thinking about it more, I'm pretty sure Far Harbor is Bar Harbor. I can already see the post-apocalyptic sign, with the B faded in just the right spots to make it look like an F.
So it says that this place has high radiation.
I hope we don't need to swallow Rad-X pills every [censored] time if we decide to go without PA or hazmat suit.
Far Harbor is messing with my head. I keep wanting to call it Far Shores, after the afterlife of the Redguards, but that's something completely different.
Any clues on how we get to this place?
I'm hoping North East area opens up to walk, but I don't mind if we have to access it through a loading screen.
I bet Dr. Zimmer, who we yet have to meet, is the "leader" of the Synth colony. I know we will meet him sometime. He is the only major character from Fallout 3, besides Dr. Li, that we all knew would certainly appear in Fallout 4.
Can anyone fill me in with the largest map Bethesda ever made for DLC?
Far Harbor will be the biggest one. But I have no idea how big the largest was before Far Harbor.
