Anyone else find this quest... Strange? It's the third quest for the Thieves Guild.

I have always had problems with it, usually because I don't know how it's suppose to be done.

Plus, Aringoth is always crouched by that dresser, which seems broken to me.

I don't get why you'd go through those sewers to got there when all it does is carry you to a an Expert lock.

You don't need to go through the sewers.

Never got the Aringoth thing. It's like he knows you're there but lets you pickpocket him anyway.

While I'm here, are none of the thieves guild members hireable?

correct, none of them are followers, not that you would want followers while sneaking around considering their AI.

Janessa and Faendal are good sneak followers, I don't see why they can't either.

They suggest the sewers to avoid conflict with the mercs that are guarding the place. You are a thief, not an assassin/raging warrior/mage in this instance. One thing the TG do not condone is killing, unless absolute necessary.

I tend to run into them anyway in the way there.

I'm not good at sneaking.
