Let's talk revenue and expenses.

You've had your money for our purchases of Skyrim and its DLC already, Bethesda, and Valve are the ones who have to pay money to keep the Steam Workshop operational, maintained, connected to the Internet and hopefully policed.

Which begs the question of where your share is going, especially given how much money you're making off someone else's work.

How much is going toward new or unannounced products?

How much is going toward developing the Creation Kit so it isn't a bug-ridden, crash-happy and unnecessarily-obtuse mess?

How much has been ring-fenced for ESO or other existing products?

Lol yeah they're not going to tell us any of that. They're obviously pocketing money from other peoples work to throw at Fallout 4 development and advertisemant.

It's the most disgusting thing I've seen from a gaming company in my 25+ years gaming.

It's a for profit company. They can use the money to buy rare pez dispensers, if that's what they feel like doing with it.

Please do not ever work for any employer. You are unlikely to be a happy productive worker.

Start your own business...or at least be self employed.

Part of it might be used to cover some license fees for the third party assets Bethesda used. Those licenses might not have covered mod makers selling mods for a fee. Those assets might still be available to be used in the creation of a mod.

Possibly other legal issues with copyright. If a mod maker uses assets that are not owned by Bethesda or the mod maker. Lawyers like to go after the money and mod makers for the most part do not have the money so Valve and Bethesda are likely going to be targeted. There are likely a lot of legal documents trying to state that they are not responsible for the actions of a mod maker, but that might not hold when they start to take money from the sale of those assets. We all know that having great lawyers cost a lot of money.

We paid them to play the game, yeah, but not to use their game to make money.

If I buy a CD with a song I really like, it doesn't mean I can put it in a movie or whatever I want with it. I need to buy a proper license to do that.

Modders who sell their mods make money off someone else's work too. Mods use a ton of assets that Bethesda made, be it meshes, textures, sound effects and whatever, in an editor that Bethesda made as well. The whole foundation is made by Bethesda, most mods just polish the surface a bit.
