I think that many people are trying to turn roleplaying games into action games. The point of a RPG, in my opinion, is to create a world that your character can LIVE in. Relationships and advertures are equally important. That doesn't mean that you need to add XXX six in the game. Being able to have companions in a game that come on an adventure with you and have the relationship component mold your story makes it for a more exciting RPG. THe relationship should be all kind, strong friendship, romance, adversery, or just economical.
I personally want to care about the world and the people that are in this virtual world in the same way you care about characters in a great film. If I don't want to care, then I play Call of Duty.
That to me is the difference between RPG and action games. In terms of six, I don't care what level it is in the game, but it should be a small side component to a whole large part of the game that provides a dynamic interaction with the characters in the world.
This! You'd think this was God of War or some other generic action game the way some people are talking.
As to the people talking about how weird it is so many clamor for graphic blood and gore yet freak out at even non-graphic romance options, yeah I agree and it seems weird to me. "I want to see dismemberment, but keep romance away eww!"
As to the supposed controversy about the game having romance and Khajiits and Argonians, they aren't animals rather they are people with animal-like characteristics. Besides, this kind of thing hasn't attracted a bizarre frenzy when sci-fi movies and shows depict relationships like that. There was even a kiss between a cat-like alien and Scotty on the Star Trek animated series if I recall. If it wasn't a kiss, it was some kind of romance plot (albeit one caused by some potion or something, it's been awhile since I saw it). The Star Trek: New Frontier books also have stuff like that with no outcry.
