It's nothing I'd really care for.

If it was in the game I'd do as Henry the 8th when I tired of her : D

Having a relationship or a girlfriend or whatever would be an interesting twist, but probably not add much to the game. You could just set him/her as a follower, and when you dismiss them they return home. You could have different "upkeep" levels for your partner based on the type of home you have. Mansions attract expensive, fancy girls and shacks will get you a fixer upper.

Add a little unique dialogue and that's all that I would find interesting in a feature like this. In the end it would just be a gimmick and not be any real contribution.

six is over-rated. If you need to include it in a video game them I'm going to wager that you haven't actually had any yet. No offense, I'm just saying.

Too bad, kiddies. six -is- there. You have male NPC's. You have female NPC's. The PC can be either male or female. There will be both male and female voice actors. If the game script writers have any skill whatsoever, then the girls with =not= be acting like boys with boobies (unless for laughs or for a 'watch the birdie' moment). There will be gender specific roles. Gender specific clothes. Possibly even gender specific actions and animations (anyone who thinks a male and female handle a weapon like a sword in the same way needs to stop watching Kurosaki flicks and spend a little time at SCA events, and see for themselves. Strength and body mass distribution change things radically). And that's the way it is.....

What isn't there is intercourse.....which has never really been handled tastefully outside of the the old 'and the moon went behind the clouds' trope (or The Witcher's ''and a sixy drawing of the femme fatale in question zooms out and fades in' trope). And I don't think anyone realistically wants or expects it. Situationally correct nudity is one thing. Doing the bearfur boogie is quite another (besides, it is a royal pita to get good mocap of that particular form of entertainment. Too many markers get occluded..... 8D ). There really needs to be more education as to the difference between 'having six' and 'sixuality being present'. Seems to be a lot of confusion there.....

Agreed this isn't fable (look how it turned out :shakehead: ) and whats with the yellow text? Anyways just because a game is M game doesn't mean it has to live us to the path that other mature games have set. If you want that type of stuff in the game get a mod but don't make us have it too. For gods sake there are eight year olds who will play the game (I'm not saying that they should I'm just stating whats probably going to happen).

I agree with those who have pointed out that "it's not TES" argument is not valid because there were sixual themes in the previous games.

I personally find it entertaining and sometimes funny. I remember when I found the strip club in morrowind, I had to show one of my friends who also played the game because I thought it was just random and funny. For everyone who complains about lack of immersion but doesn't want sixual themes in Skyrim (like there were in fallout) to me that's kind of ironic. Relationships and sixual themes immerse one into a world, since it is such a huge part of our own world. Turn on the TV, watch a movie (even disney ones) and you will find romance and sixual themes.

I don't see what the big deal is, if you don't want certain themes like six or violence in Skyrim go play something else like monopoly.

I think six is an important part of bringing a world to life... in more ways than one. But I'm not talking about procreation, you probably already know how that works. No, what I mean is that sixual themes give character to a world, adds depth and interest. I'm not calling for actual six scenes. That would be over the top and totally unnecessary. What I would like is for six to be an obvious part of the world - courtesans, [censored]houses in sleazier parts of town, rumors about certain characters who 'sleep around,' affairs, implied sixual partners... it shouldn't be in your face wherever you look, but it should be present as a subtle undertone.

I find it amazing how backward the media is regarding six and violence. Murder is the ultimate atrocity you can commit against another human being, and something very few people will engage in during their lifetime. six is a necessity for the survival of species, and something that almost everyone will engage in during their lifetime. So why is murder an accepted part of entertainment, with films and games dedicated to it, while six is bound to invoke a media storm wherever it features?

Thread is hilarious. We can get a majority 'yes' vote for dismemberment but people get all squeamish over good old six romps in a heroic tale.

As I said over on the romance thread - six and heroism is as old as the Hero's Journey storyline itself (and that's damned old). They walk together naturally hand-in-hand. You can't read a fantasy/historical fiction book or watch a movie of the same genres without getting it. That's because It's all about characterization and emotive involvement. Personally I'd love to see RPG's grow up in this sense and involve mature material and not shy away from it or assume their audience is a bunch of asixual nerds

Get this through your heads folks - those sort of story types are about the strength of the fictive experience of the genre, and not about dating sims or virtual pr0n

These^

six in video games...LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's so funny? Are video games not a form of media to compare with books, movies, TV, art, etc.?

Well, before there is a lock, I agree...no six in Skyrim...Those of us reading the Elder Scrolls...We are a tidbit too classy for fornication...lol

Lolz, there won't be a lock if everyone plays nice. Too classy? How about too ignorant?

Also, this is a suggestion to EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM - Go play Daggerfall, read the lore, read the new TES novels, or just pay attention in the games. six has always been integral in the TES universe, as it is in our own. There is no reason to exclude it that I can think of, as Skyrim's already getting an M rating and is meant for advlts. Having six in TES? Nah. six being in TES in general? Absolutely.

Some people are so immature when they argue that a game representing a vibrant model world based on reality shouldn't have realistic, MATURE features......so ridiculous.

I dont care either way myself , I would like it if just for kicks they had prostitution along the lines of fallout and nudity as far as top wise for your own charecter so that some armors are a bit revealing from the side lol, but I certainly dont need it or even think about it anymore then I think about six or nudity on a regular basis (average guy 3-7 x a day at my age lol), but dont get into lets get all graphics happy with it this is not leisure suit larry the barbarian.

Let me make a question? Will it make the gameplay more entertaning? What reward the player will get by having six?
If the devs manage to get this things right I'd say: Why not?
If they can't do it, then I simply wouldn't mind not to see this in-game.

Naah. Anyone who has done any semi-serious study of animation knows this. Besides, it's always been fun to watch a 6' Vikingish Knight wannabe with a claymore get taken apart by a petite 5'3" waif with a rapier or light balanced katana:
Posture. Posture. Insult. Laugh.
(silence)
Roar swing!
(duck, lunge, stabstabstab back or spin away).

That always gets forgotten in game fights. Or as quoted in Watership Down: "If they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you."

I'm with Rumple and Faulgor. Totally excluding sixual themes and incinuations creates a very cold, bizarre robot world. I would love some place like the Suran joint. It breathes life into the world. That's a far cry from a six scene or mini game. I don't care about something like that, one way or the other.

It was well handled in Morrowind, there is no need to go Hot Coffee, of course, but some sensuality brings the characters to life, make them not look like robotic mannequins.

But we don't want to offend the sensibilities of 12 year old nerds that are scared by it and only want to dismember people and bite their faces off without feeling threatened, do we? ;)

There should be romance in Skyrim. The name of the game is immersion, yes? You want to cook, sleep, shun fast travel and walk for miles, chop wood, farm, fish, play instruments, count the stars, but not have relations?? And relationships are the whole point, as posters have said. A spouse gives players that much more incentive to protect, which is what being a hero is all about.

I think I would miss the absence of romance in Skyrim exactly because its so immersive and realistic. The Scrolls seamless blend of social realism, metaphysical mysticism and high fantasy is what truly sets it apart. And since six is our primary function in life and all....(see: metal gear,) why save a world in which you can't get your groove on? :-P

I agree it should be tasteful and discrete. Although I'd like more than a blackout. Take out the moaning and give us one tasteful bareback vignette :-o (avoid faces and thus the uncanny valley, and no need for nudity) And you add in a little Soule romance theme ;-) voila!

The really cool part would be tying marital benefits into gameplay. I envision it thusly, if I may: create one template romance "quest" that is repeatable and non-specific - similar to what Todd has talked about in regards to "lesser" companions. Take a handful of npcs in each town, chosen by the radiant A.I. for being single, right sixual preference, not racist against you, etc. Once these characters reach a high disposition, romance becomes available. You go through the courtship trials we are all familiar with, little dating missions: impress, protect, provide. Culminating in a little chapel ceremony :-3 and you can even hand out invitations to your friends. But you must own a house for anyone to marry you...

Because then, when I come home from adventuring, the fire is lit, a meal is prepared (8' o clock sharp), receive a stat boost for making love, etc. Isnt that nice?

I think that template could work across the board. Obviously still a lot of hard work. But this is Radiant A.I. here people. Theres no need for a special storyline, cuz its One Love :-) Only needs a little extra dialogue here and there. Just a few "love yous" and the like. Plus if you become a widow/divorcé you can try it again (poor sap)

But yeah, wild horses couldnt drag me away from skyrim, its basically frosting on top of even more frosting, and this game will make diabetics of us all!!

Be seeing you!

i dont mind being able to have six within the game but it should not be any kind of real scene like in mass effect. it should be like fable where the screen goes dark a few sounds then bam 5 seconds later ur both standing next to the bed.... and it should serve the purpose of reward for having good standing with certain citizens. or if anyone wants to have kids which will not be possible in skyrim btw but if somehow it was possible it would not be totally bad as long as implemented like in fable 2...except i dont have to visit myf amily.... they can all starve to death for all i care. six to me has already been a pretty cool aspect becuz it adds a little realism to the game but its never had actual six appeal for me. insinuating six is also adding to realism for me. even in nirn they have to have six to prosper. also i think a little stat boost thats temporary would be cool. maybe if u have six your speech skill temporarily shoots up. or your stamina. that'd be cool. I think six is really not all that bad as long as its purpose is not to serve people who are getting turned on by it.

I'm with Deity Matrix.

Imo Skyrim has much to lose in believability and maturity if it largely leaves out sixual themes the way Oblivion did. And I don't mean gimmicky six cutscenes or, Sithis forbid, a minigame. But I expect aknowledgement that six exists - innuendos, lewd jokes, flirting, gender roles, etc. from a world that has claims to (at least) believability.

As for romance, well, that's another thing. Who knows, amongst the numerous-but-shallow companions we've been promised, maybe some will be romanceable. Then it's all in the writers' hands.

There's nothing wrong with sixual innuendo in a video game if the developers see it so. People rightfully mentioned previous games that had such especially with strip joints, and everything was fine. If that's not your cup of tea or hot coffee, perhaps you should go roleplay Dora the Explorer.

One of the most natural things you can do actually. It wouldn't matter if the screen went black, it's just best that way for everyone in the same room as I when I play Skyrim.

It wouldn't kill me if I couldn't romance a girl or have six in a game, but evidently it works extremely well for character development and immersion in Dragon Age: Origins (Morrigan, anyone?)

Since TES games are all about open worlds, freedom, immersion and such things... it feels natural that we will eventually be able to not only buy houses like now, but get to know people on a deeper level (harhar), and even form families or other types of relationships. That's what they have writers for.

When it comes to handling weapons, no one at an SCA event can match Dovahkiin.

Dovakhin or not doesn't change the fact that a male has a higher center of gravity than a female, or that the greatest mass of a male is across the shoulders and upper chest, while a female has a dual mass zone, across shoulders and around hips. Triangle vs. Hourglass. One is easier to toss into action from the point (and also more easily tossed off balance in action); one is more stable and less tossable. One has that single mass zone to devote most of the defense to; the other has to defend -2- mass zones (as well as keeping said zones out of her own weapon's arcs on returns). In the world of animation, you have to always remember that your watchers usually know more than you think. Vis-a-vis sword or weapons work, most movies at least try and get it right with experts choreographing fight scenes....simply because you can hurt or kill someone if you treat a weapon like a toy. And most weapons masters prefer to work with weapons that at least have the correct weight distribution, if not the actual weight of the weapon in question (and the weight difference usually comes from the fact that modern materials are used, not the older materials forged or prepared with older methods). And the myriad differences could be talked about for quite a few more paragraphs. But this is why they get skilled weapons users and hopefully let them show their mastery, not follow a set of stock actions with no input.

Adding romance to build stronger ties to companions and such (i.e. - Dragon Age) works great in game IMO. The ES games however always have you go solo (except the rare escort missions).

I will note that romancing Ahnassi in ES-III and doing all her side quests was actually a lot of fun. Getting her to purr for you and ending up shacking up in her house, which you could then call your own, was good thing. No six was ever seen, or even really talked about, but it was assumed.

I would Love to see something like the Ahnassi quests in ES-V. Maybe some lonely Nord widow needing some help, offering you a place to stay and companionship afterwards. That would be great. Wouldn't need hot love scenes or anything.
