Letter of Credit

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 12:27 pm

Ya know, not for nothing, I do distinctly remember getting a letter of credit from Delvin of the Thieves' Guild for the purchase of the Necklace belonging to a member of the Elder Council in the quest to kill the Emporer. The odd thing is that even at the end of that quest you end up spending 19,000 of 20,000 gold to fix up the New Sanctuary in Dawnstar. What ever happened to the letter of credit? I do realize that it was intended for Astrid, but she is dead and story wise Delvin already knows you if like you did the TG quests before the DB quests. I just cannot escape the overwhelming feeling of being robbed in that mission and feel that we should have been able to use the letter of credit from the necklace purchase...

I do not recall that letter of credit ever being fulushed out in the story. Although the game is great, it is these little things that make it somewhat annoying...I have of course since moved further than that mission so it is not really a big deal. Just thought I would see if anyone else is having the same issue or had the same issue with that part of the story and its execution...

I would have been nice to have that 15k to put toward the fixing up of the new Dawnstar Sanctuary. I wonder why Bethesda did that? That was a pretty involved quest too. So after it was all said and done, you only walked away with 1000 septim for yourself after killing such a high profile mark like the Emperor. I just don't get it...I just would love some explanation as to what happened to the letter of credit...

The letter probably went up in flames along with the Falkreath Sanctuary.

The letter of credit was for Astrid only and with her death came the death of the letter of credit. Plain and simple.

A "transferable to the person who kills the holder" clause would be a bad idea, then? :whistling:

I just wish you had the option to buy back the Jeweled Amulet. I'd pay 10 times what he did if it meant getting it back.

Think im pretty sure that the payment for the amulet was to be used to make the murder of the emperor possible, cover certain expenses I guess. Just an example: tip of certain people for important info about targets.
When I say "Think im pretty sure" I ment that I recall both Astrid and Delvin mentioning it was for financing the murder plan. ^^

Bribes and such is my guess. Assassinating an Emperor is in no way cheap. I too, would like to get it back tho. Looked awesome.
