Letter from Howard Stringer to Playstation Customers.

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:35 pm

I just saw on IGN that PS3 had a 13% increase in hardware sales for April. Now that i'm surprised about.

Yes but people are also trading in their PS3s. Most probably hardcoe Callofduty players. xD Easier for me to maintain my sixy 3.18kd.. :hubbahubba:

This has quickly become a comedy for me, everyday that goes by I laugh a little harder. :D

My guess is that PSN will be up sometime by the end of the month, just a guess though so don't read much into it.

I'm slightly confused as it stands. Not at Sony.. but that the people in these threads..

Have you all been so badly butt-[censored] by online games you don't own a SINGLE game which you can play alone...? I mean.. really? Out of every single game you own, you do not have a game with a good single-player campaign.. or [censored], a single-player GAME? I understand being frustrated because you don't have access to some online gaming for awhile. I wish I could play one of my games online, but I didn't spend years building up an entire collection of games that svck unless it's online, and I assume (probably a BAD idea to assume considering it's the internet.. or worse.. a forum) that it is the same for most people. You do have other games to play, right?

I mean, jesus. Even when I HAVE PSN, I still hook up my N64 and SNES..

Remember the day's when games weren't online...
When we had GoldenEye and no less then 12 friends who wanted to hang out and play it all the time....

I'm almost certain if Xbox and Playstation shut down their online at the same time for 6 months, suicide rates would go up atleast 2x ...

Well for some people online gaming makes up 70% if not more of their gaming. I have to agree with you though, if any online service went down I really wouldn't' be that upset as I mostly game offline and as long I can get onto Netflix I'm happy.

I know, I'm the same. The only real effect it's having on me is that nobody can play my LBP levels, and even then, I just spend my time building random aviation monstrosities in create mode.

But I guess a lot of people only play online FPSes.

Is your siggy from Robot Unicorn attack XD?

And I was going to use this down-time to make my LBP level ahaaa. I am terribly uncreative, and uninspired though, so i'v kind of been ignoring it. Also, having people NOT play my level after 40 hours of work can be disheartening.

But I agree, I don't understand why people pay so much for a console, to ONLY play one type of game. Since FPS games don't generally have a high graphics requirement, it'd be smarter just to play them on PC's lol.

I made a level with realistic, functioning aeroplanes from across history, and it was getting decent plays, and then they stopped suddenly. I later found out it was because of all this...

I had a few levels in LBP, then was in the process of my Traps, Tricks and Time-Bomb Ticks level for LBP2, then I was like "....ok i'm bored." Lol.

Attention span of a fly for the win... *cough*

Uncharted is better online. Don't get me wrong, the story is great but the online multiplayer is really fun. I want to play online so bad...

And Uncharted?

I'v had people tell me to get it, but personally I couldn't stand the controls in the first one, so it soured my (obviously biased) opinion of the games. Other than that, no real opinion on them, but i'd prefer spend my money elseware when it comes to videogames.

Based on discussions with some technical people I know, the stage that they are at of testing would indicate that it will be another week before things could possibly be turned back on in Japan and then slowly be turned back on for the rest of the work. It could well be longer.

Just in case anypony was still in doubt about the sheer effort undertaken by the attackers.

I think it's finally working, again. I just clicked on "sign in" and received a message about needing a system update. I didn't update, yet, but came down to the computer room, instead. It may not be working, but the system update was something I thought was worth mentioning, here.

You should go update. Let us know what happens if you don't mind that is.

I would do it my self but I'm at work.
