Level Calculator

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:36 pm

Does anybody know of a calculator that can determine a character's level based on an input of skills? (NOT A PERK CALCULATOR) There was one for Oblivion (http://linklost.com/occ/) so it comes as a surprise to me that there is nothing similar to that for Skyrim. Something that would let me input race and every skill level and then calculate/determine what level that character would be. It would essentially let me know what level a specific build would max out at.

I realize there is already a formula posted on UESP for amount of Skill XP required to get a level up, so it's surprising that there is no calculator. Maybe there is and I just searched up the wrong keywords?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

I would also find this helpful. I've basically just been doing it manually by using the formula posted at the UESP. If I had programming skills, I'd do it, but alas...

I made a spreadsheet with calculations. Download this file:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Ara_nWKhEraVdFdhLV92eHpEYUYzaWRmUFZXT21aY2c&output=xls

You will need Excel.

Or https://docs.google.com/ and edit from there(requires google account).

(Input your target skills, it will calculate the level. Note that different races have different base stats so select the right race first.)

PS. I found this:

But it is wrong.

Thanks Vtastek, but I get an error when attempting to load your spreadsheet. Are you sure you posted the correct URL?

Try it now, this is my first time using google docs so I have no idea what I am doing. :D

I imagine publishing it via google so people can directly edit and get what they want without messing the original document. I am sure something like this is possible but I haven't figure it out yet.

What exactly are you looking for, a spreadsheet or standalone program?

Pros and cons to each one.

I did not think that any race or build could not reach the level cap of 81.

They can all reach 81, but it's not something I do on all of my characters. For example, for Mage builds I never use any weapons, armor, smithing, alchemy, etc. So his max level is going to be much lower than 81 if I'm limiting my skill usage. The spreadsheet is amazing in determining the level a certain character/build would end up at using certain skills though!

OK, if your limiting your skills, that makes sense.

Remember, the game stops leveling things at 50 and most enemies you will see way before that.

An update:

I was using round instead of floor. So did I just send the crew into the deep space? Hehe.

You know, you could just click the option to make it visible with the link in GDocs. It's under the document's sharing settings. ;)

Eh, I just calculated things based on adding up the XP required to level until it was greater than the XP generated by the test values, increasing the starting character level by one each time.

Not the most elegant solutions, but it works.

Maybe I'll make it more efficient eventually.
