Is 50+ even a level cap? I mean, the level isn't technically capped, so why call it a level cap?
As for the subject at hand, I prefer it this way. Elder Scrolls games take a long time to even reach level 10 (something that can be reached in Fallout 3 in like a day and a half), so why even have a cap in the first place. If they want to invest the thousands of hours of their life to reach like level 75 or something, let them. Hell knows it took me 284 hours and 376 game days to level up all of my major skills and some of my minors, and I was still level 38.
I just hope they don't take the Fallout approach to leveling rate, because the Elder Scrolls won't feel nearly as epic if that will be the case.
I am wondering what the engine hardcoded level cap will be though. Oblivion's was 255, so I imagine Skyrim's will only go higher than that. And again, that's not technically a cap, because by the time most people got all of their major skills maxed out, they were like level 40. You'd have to go to prison A LOT if you wanted to reach 255.
