Level 50 Confirmed

Post » Sun May 23, 2010 11:50 pm

You people know that they re gonna put a trait to limit the level cap in 30 right?

Try to be more grateful

That would be a great idea although I doubt it'll happen.

I would think they would. Even with the choice to not level I don t think I can stop myself. They ll have a 800hp 18dt nightkin psycholord and the feral legendary trooper ghoul reaver that still remembers how to fire his service rifle from muscle memory, and he throws radiation bombs. ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Then you ll really need that prototype telsa beaton canon lol

Were gonna need a alpha mother legendary boss queen overlord brute king master reaver god hunter trooper obama mutant :(.

Don't you understand the game is already lol able easy it doesn't matter if it takes a 100x the xp it's making a shambolically easy game even easier.

You aren't understanding what I am saying. It would be possible to get to 300XP but you woudl have to dump every XP you have to do it. And your other skills will have nothing. That is how the originals did it. The higher your skill the more and more XP it takes to increase yout skill.

yeah look on the first or second page of this thread. Gstaff posted that info. You take a trait to stay at 30 or 35.

That is good then. As long as this trait is true then I will not be pissed at Obsidian

The level 30 Trait doesn't matter they still raised the level cap when it didn't need to be raised in the 1st place. I want a Gifted Trait (-10 all skills +1 Special stats) included as well I think that would be fair if we are going to have a broken character, also have new perks that can be taken below level 30.

Because sadly, it's the easiest way to give people a sense of accomplishment.

The term is Skinner Box. Look it up on wikipedia if you're interested (I think the proper term is Operant Conditioning Chamber, but it was created by a guy named Skinner, and it's just way easier to say.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operant_conditioning_chamber
(I just wanted to make sure I got the name right ;))

Or if you're feeling extra motivated for some Extra Credit info, give these guys a listen. Some of the smartest minds in the business if you ask me.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/2487-The-Skinner-Box
(seriously worth a listen if you like to see "behind the scenes")

Well what i'm hoping for, is the level cap increase might mean the whole leveled up npc. The patch gave us upgraded gangs and giving us upgrades for the weopns may be hinting that this is might happen

It doesn't. Sometime back somone said if they did it like the Originals it would balance out the game. You did not seem to think it would. So I am just trying to explain how it would.

Still its moot now because there will be a trait so they say that will make levelling past the cap an option.

I'm not a big fan of the original system from FO1/FO2 but as of right now it's better then what we currently have.

lol you don t think the feral legendary trooper ghoul reaver that can still fire his service rifle would do the job. There would be way more that one. I really like the super nightkin psycholord idea with 800hp and 18dt. Black Mountain would be a really scary place with them up there. aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh Bring in the tribals from Point Lookout and give them leather armour. aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

Options are great arn't they? :D

I want to pay for a great story which I got with Fallout New Vegas and Dead Money. I have a feeling the other DLC will have great stories as well. I don't want my character to become super good with maxed skills and special. Game breaking characters svck.

Level 40 would've been perfect for the absolute cap after level 35(Although I never would've raised the darn thing in the 1st place).

3 more perks
Even level number

But nope we got level 50 and the fact that we have to waste a trait in order to not be broken is sad very sad :sadvaultboy:

Maybe they will give us three traits :shifty:

The one trait I want the most is skilled so I can have perks every three levels :tops:

Agree 100%, if the level cap is raised then 3 traits is a good idea and some new ones would be good.

Skilled is a good idea although I prefer Gifted coming back or something else from Fallout 1 or 2.

I don't mind at all.Leveling up is the second thing that adds the most replay value for me.The first being quests.

Saying "don't buy it" is an awful solution to it.
I'm probably going to want the DLC's for:
The quests.
The story.
The characters.
The weapons.
The armor.
The perks.
The traits.
The recepies
The enemies.
The lore.
The gameplay.
The new mechanics.
The dialogue.
The companions.

Should I be forced to ignore all of that just cause they [censored] up and can't balance the game straight and force a +5 cap onto me?
Yeah, I want the DLC for all of the other things, should I be punished for wanting the game to be balanced? What the hell kinda logic is that?
Cause that's what it is. "Oh here's a brand new DLC" - "Oh Willis! That's awesome!" - "Yeah! And it raises the lvl cap too!" - "Wait, no I don't want more levels, the game is already unbalanced.." - "Well [censored] you and take it like a [censored] cause you're getting the new cap whether you like it or not if you want any of the DLC's! >:D"
"Don't buy it" is a horrible "solution" to the +cap.

Now, if the DLC's are already released then the damage is already done. (Like Dead Money.)
So sure, it's our choice, we ourselves have to choose whether we want to enjoy "the rest" of the new Fallout content or if we want to have a balanced game.
Here's the thing; we shouldn't have to "choose".
We should be able to buy the DLC without worrying about some idiotic design decision that's there to flat out unbalance the game even more. (If developers knowingly unbalance the game on purpose then I find it to be an idiotic design decision as it does nothing to improve the game or the roleplaying experience.)

Anyway, Bethesdian, why is the trait in OWB? Release it in Honest Hearts too! (Since it comes before OWB.)
