Level 50 Confirmed

Post » Mon May 24, 2010 3:18 am

I am rather surprised at this. Broken Steel in F3 made a huge difference to your character in just ten extra levels - there were so many insanely powerful perks and skills that were so easy to max out without even trying; there were just too many skill points to dish out. Expanding that to level 50 is going to make it far more extreme than Broken Steel ever was, unless some new rules regarding skill points or XP apply.

PC players will be fine, but not for us console users. :(

All I have to say is at level 35 in t45d pa I am almost indestructable . So by level 50 I ll have over 500hp easy. That means they needs to add insane high hp NPCs

Im talking fo3 reaver hp, super mutant overlord hp, fo3 Point Lookout tribal hp, and they didn t really even have armour.

It will be fine as long as they add enemies that can take as much or more punishment than me. Right now only the feared Deathclaw and Lanius can stand up to my level 35 walking tank. My level 50 walking tank will be the Uber God of all Uber Gods unless we see some 750 hp NPCs . IMO

Legendary Feral Ghoul Reaver, anyone?

I don't know about you guys, but after busting my ass for 50 levels, my character DAMN WELL better be a god at that point.
Why else do you think they have levels?

Methinks people whine too much

Because sadly, it's the easiest way to give people a sense of accomplishment.

The Legendary Legendary Alpha Mother Deathclaw that i mentioned some month ago. Of course at level 50 it will have to be armed with two Laser Rifles and throw grenades with it's tail. Actually, let's make that Gattling Lasers and mini-nukes :D

Re: the level cap, this is worth noting:
Old World Blues will offer a new trait (and respec your traits if you've already chosen them) that will allow you to cap your level at 30 (or current level if you’re already over 30).

Very interesting, thanks for that tidbit. At least that's a decent option for console players, should they wish to use it.

Re: the level cap, this is worth noting:

Im not against leveling up. I like it........ If there are levels to be taken Its too tempting not to take them lol

They just need to throw some high hp NPCs in IMO and everything will be fine. I just don t want to be the only walking tank out there.

Adding Centurions to the wastes would be great IMO. More hp for enemies IMO is all that would be needed.

If you liked fo3 or not reavers, sm overloards, the tribals from Point Lookout were dangerous, because you could not just stand in there and and kill them.

You had to move to cover, run, use stims alot more.

IMO They were hard for my fo3 Uber God

The only thing that perk really infers is that the game will not be balanced after level 30.

I hope you guys have some interesting reasons as to why the level increases were necessary.

If they want to pull this, we need actually DANGEROUS enemies, not bullet sponges, we need enemies capable of hurting a person without being completely ridiculous.

As long as it balances out enemy wise, IE Legendary Bloatflies, crazed feral FEV mutated mole rat men and Super Mutant Behemoth Reavers, it should be good.

2 giants decking it out for supremacy is waaaaay more fun than some lousy courier struggling for survival facing off against a heavily armored opponent.

Are they [censored] stupid?
Sawyer said on his Formspring thingie that he would not make thing optional cause this isn't Options: The Game.
But Sawyer, you but better [censored] make the game have an optional cap at 35, 30 or 25 or this is a [censored] slap in the face to every RPGamer who wants balance.

But I knew it.
I knew they had to ruin the game somehow.
It's inevitable.
It's like it's a requirement for every developer to ruin their games somehow.

Hm, they seem to have made it optional anyway.
Thanks [censored] Willis for that.
It's still an idiotic idea IMO to raise it to 50, wonder how the hell they're going to balance it for combat.
Wait....
This still means that Honest Hearts will give me +5 more levels. /rage

Just because you can level up even more(being level 2 is no fun), does that mean nothing will be done to enemies? How do you know Vertibird-throwing molerats won't show up to balance it out? Broken Steel increased the level cap, and as we can all remember, it added Feral Ghoul Reavers and Super Mutant Overlords to DC.
