My mage character is called Yeo, and he is level 9. At around what level can I begin to find or purchase strong levelled staff's. I have the Apotheosis staff I purchased from Rindir's staff's (spelling) in the Imperial City but it needs to be recharged so often is there any other staffs around i can get my Magic loving hands on???

I don't think there are many at level 9, but you could try doing the mages guild quests if you haven't already, you get a nice staff early on, and many other staves from killing necromancers as you progress through the quests, or you could just try searching for necromancer dungeons. If you;ve started the main quest, daedra in the gates sometimes have them. at higher levels you can fight liches, who carry some really nice ones.

You can get goblin totem staves by raiding any one of several goblin tribe lairs at any level.

These staves do 20 shock damage on target x 1 sec, and have 111 charges. Sounds handy for a level 9 staff user?

Plus the Goblin tribes you stole them from will try to track you down and get them back, which can be used to stage some really funny stuff. I generally hide them in cities or particularly nasty locations and wait for whatever ragged remnants managed to survive to whatever location I've got the staff(s) to limp in and get annihilated.

Alternatively, you can take two (or more) of them, go to someplace out of the way with minimal spawns and wait for the various tribes to show up. They don't get along well, which results in a Gobbo Battle Royale. Since you are on console, and thus 100% vanilla content, it is very likely that most if not all of them will actually make it alive to your setup location. Gobbos get reamed pretty bad in modded games.

Those totem staves are good for a lot of under appreciated amusemant.

The best staff i always used was that from the Mages Guild quest, but only once I reached 15. That Paralysis for 8 sec is unbelievable, as Paralysis is such an expensive magic effect, even at higher Illusion levels.

The Goblin Totem thing is something I did not have the chance to do, I just noticed that some goblins appeared to follow me too often. It must have been this, coz I did not immediately go sell my stuff after one raiding...
