For science!
I would like to hear your thoughts on this. Which one would you rather have, scaled or a fully unscaled world, and why?
If designed well, the pros would include:
- The sense of progression.
- You can find challenge at any point you want, at least up to the highest levels.
- Static enemy levels make the world more immersive.
- No need to violently balance the game by nerfing artifacts and uniques etc.
- Which means that powerful items would be hidden in the dungeons, encouraging you to explore them thoroughly.
Cons:
- Removes the freedom of exploring the whole world until higher levels.
- There's a big chance to encounter too hard enemies for your level, thus increasing difficulty.
- You may be unable to progress through a questline due to it's difficulty until you level up more.
...
If you have any pros and/or cons to add to the list, post them too.
