Level 10

Post » Tue Jan 28, 2014 1:47 am

Taking in all account of XP gain: Quests, grinding, PVP, crafting, PVE content, Raids, Dungeons, etc

If a person is allow to play 4 - 6 per day and plays everyday for a week, who long should it take to get to level 10? Level 25? Level 50?

none of the above. at 6 hours a day you should hit level 10 before a week. getting to 10 in most games is fast, its the later levels that take longer. now i am all for slower leveling myself but i am not sure if i think it should take 42 hours just to hit ten. now if a person does a ton of exploring maybe it will take that long?

The lvl cap at launch is 50, and they are saying that will take about 100 hours to reach the cap.
You could then assume that getting to level 10 would take about 20 hours.

Although, you likely gain levels quicker at the start, so it could be more like 12-15 hours.

None of the above

Slow levelling is great. The issue with it, is ensuring you have enough content to sustain the slower levelling and not have it feel repetitive.

Quicker than a week at the pace you mentioned.

Depending on what you're doing in those 4-6 hours, whether it be PvP, questing, dungeons, crafting etc, may be 5-6 weeks at that pace?

Although they say 100 hours to reach level cap, I can see players doing it much faster than that, depends on your style.

I am also asking this question for levels 25 and level 50 if the numbers of hours can be play be the same -- 4 - 6 per day, everyday.

Add a poll options that are in days, not weeks.

it might take you a week to get to level 10 if you only play 4 hours a day and walk everywhere while refusing to use wayshrines.

probably 24 hours or so to reach level 10ish, not speaking from experience *cough.*

And according to what the developers have said, possibly 50 hours for level 25 and 100 hours for level 50?

More or less depending on your play-style. Some people love to blaze through the game, while other love to soak it up.

i said one week, but it should be less at 4-6 hours every day, maybe 2 days max.

Level 25 should take about a week or 2 and 50 MAYBE a month at absolute maximum if you are playing the golden saucer and not questing/gaining exp all the time.

Ok I'm going to say that "leveling" in this case is not pure leveling, dedicating all the time in the game to gaining experience as quickly as possible, but more enjoying and exploring each and every zone you pass thoroughly and not being too bothered by the speed at which you level.

For a more casual approach like this, which I think a lot of the fans of the TES singleplayer series are going to take... I'd say <1 week to level 10. 2-3 Weeks to level 20 and 2 months to level 50. This sounds reasonable to me for the leveling process if you are still being entertained all the way through.

Again, if all you're doing in that time is questing and gaining exp, then I'd say a week to level 25, maybe more, and around 3 weeks to 50.

I assuming that is one is playing the game for fun, not trying to "power level" or race for the end game content.

I actually quite enjoyed it in WoW, some characters I levelled up to cap in a couple of days, but for ESO I'm taking it slowly for my first character, then if I make an alt I'll power level.

I would like to see it take awhile, to often in mmos i find myself outleveling the content they have and just skip to the next area. Slowing it down would allow me to experince the dungeons at the right levels.

I think players that are PvP motivated will be leveling as fast as they can. While PvE and RP focused players will tend to be slower. Then the average median support with the players that are into all of it.

My guess is... faster players may be at L10 ~10hrs / L25 ~30hrs / L50 ~90hrs. At my pace... I'll be lucky to see level 10 before 30hrs, let alone L25. If the average for L50 is ~100, then I will most likely triple that. What was it... 200hrs of total content in each alliance? Yea, I'll be a while.

EDIT :

IDK Looking back over that post, 90 hrs for a fast paced player seems like a lot. I'd bet some get there in 60hrs.

Well I won't be playing 4 hours a day... so with 2 hours a day, I hope it would take me a week to get to lvl 10. I need a sense of accomplishment when levelling, if it's too easy/fast, I will get bored easily I think.

Indeed. I would consider powerleveling if there was a possibility of myself being the first person to reach level 50 (Yes I'm a petty nerd, leave me be :(). However I'm uncertain wether or not my real life and current work would allow this.

So for now I intend to level a bit more casually, thoroughly reading all the quests and other dialogue, fully exploring zones and all that jazz. A bit more like how one would approach the singleplayer games.

Longer the better if they can fill it with meaningful content. I always feel a horrible sensation when hitting level cap nowadays in MMOs, something akin to the feeling I get right before I realize it's raining out and it's time for my daily jog. "Back on the old treadmill..."

How long to hit Level 10?

Hmmm... First character I probably won't spend as much time exploring, gathering, and Crafting. Plus I'll be teamed with a Guildmate so there will be a slight increase in XP gain and we'll finish off quests more quickly. So I'd say 12hrs of play max. But that's just a guess... Seriously level 10 is not that high. And since we don't get our Weapons Swap till level 15. That will my target before I begin to relax and stop pushing myself. Its just that I'd expect 10-15 might take a bit longer than 1-10 did just because that's how most of these games progress. So I'd project that 1-15 will take no more than 2, 14hr, days of play.

There is a catch to this strategy though. As in that character will most likely be less well equipped than a character that spent time gathering and crafting. Life is like that sometimes.
