Leveling System Formula

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:46 pm

So I know that in order to reach max level (81) takes skilling everything up to 100.

But is the formula on how the leveling works known?

For instance, what level could I expect to reach on a character that maxed out 8 or 9 skills?

I don't desire to level everything up to 100, though I do have about 8 or 9 skills that I would like to delve deep into and perk up significantly, and was wondering just how many perks I could expect to gain by maxing out those 9 skills.

If you're interested in the specific formula, it's on this page:

It's not as involved as the last two games. Level up a skill, gain a player level. Most players will never reach level 81 because there will be skills that just don't fit their character/playstyle. For example: A player who focuses on heavy armor, 2-handed and smithing might never level up his alteration skill beyond the occasional skill book.

In any case, give me your race and the 9 skills you're taking to 100, and I'll tell you the level you'll end up at.

Thanks, I don't know how I missed that post. I've tried running the formula, and I think I did something wrong cuz I didn't get an answer that made any sense. But math has never been my strong suit either.

I'd be a Breton, and I'd be looking at One Handed, Heavy Armor, Smithing, Conjuration, Illusion, Restoration, Destruction, Alteration, Enchanting

Still in debate what all skills I'll actually use, but those are the 9 I'm looking at.

Assuming those are the ONLY skills you take to 100, and the ONLY skills that get any gains whatsoever, you're looking at a max level of 56.

Keep in mind you'll probably end up at a higher max level simply by accidentally leveling stuff like lockpicking, sneak, speech, etc. But I left those at an assumed skill level of 15 (what you start at level 1 with)

Okay great, thanks!

No prob! In the future if you have any need for finding a character build's max level just shoot me a PM, or use the googledocs spreadsheet from the thread I linked in my previous post. :)
