Levelling Up in Skyrim

So, the biggest concern for Skryim (aside from a few misinformed people worrying about whether it's open world) seems to be the skills/levelling system. For those who don't know:

There are no classes/major skills/etc. Instead you'll level up skills the normal way. But the higher a skill is the faster you'll level up, so jack of all trades types will level up a lot slower than specialists. Seems an elegant solution, especially since anything past level 50 will apparently go much slower.

There are 18 skills. So, four removed from Oblivion since Enchanting is back as a skill. This to me seems a bit, heavy handed. Especially concerning the non-stop pining for MORE skills that everyone wanted after Oblivion. Getting rid of mysticysm seems fine, they've moved around the important spells to other schools. But what else could they get rid of?

Further we don't know what happened to stats. "You'll be able to choose between levelling up magicka and stamina" with an auto-boost to health is fairly vauge. That's what stats did, so are they in or out? What determines magicka/stamina regeneration? Does anything govern skills?

That being said perks are in, and there's a ton of them. They gave much more mundane examples than the rather wacky ones in Fallout. We can assume from their talk of differentiation that there's more than 50 of them.

Can you please tell me some of the perks? My local stores won't have it for a while and it'll be a while till scans come out. Oh,and by the way, how do you subscribe to threads? I'm new.
