*Sigh.* The day we get interesting lore to bicker over an area not from Morrowind, but still regionalized so that we can begin to get over this big stiffy for Vivec will be a great day indeed.

Seconded. A hermaphroditic false god from a backwater province is only fun for, oh, I'd say about five years. We have passed that point, I think, so I have to sit here contenting myself with mantling of Dark Elven heroes and facepalming at my lack of geographical knowledge in either Nirn or the real world (Toronto is in Ca?ada, BTW).

Well, now I need to say "see you ma?ana to the Ca?adans," or rather, go to work. Later folks!

PS: I'm aware that there is both no squiggly in "canada" and that Vivec is one of the most fully formed characters in all of fiction, but what I mean is by now everyone is settled into thier camp: mine being "False god, whatever, leave it lie for new stuff" the opposite being the idea he's God with a capital G, and all TES lore revolves around him. Not that there's a problem with holding that view, it's just that the opportunities for productive discourse about him and his nature are rare since everyone is very set in thier opinions for the most part.

The fact that people have taken the trouble to try to decide if this is by a Dev speaks volumes

The multiplicity of sources if fine - that is what an all-encompassing work should be - this is trying or succeeding to draw together so many different strings in ES and present them at the same time in the manner appropriate, but also with strong differences and even contradictions - is as it should be.

It is not just about Vekh - note the name of that great Nord hero and the symbolism of the tree - and yes, Ygdrasil - but it is a Vekh from a Nord point of view as seen in that RP in the 101 and allows a transmutation.

Imagine the breath coming from the mouth of that Nord (with a name like, but different from Yffre) and you will see a tree on its side - and then Vehk who has now attained CHIMp and is part of all takes a seed that then grows into a tree and takes it everywhere.

If you accept Vivek's accession rather than extinction then he has to be written into all the Lore according to the views of the different races - and that process has to be extended to other gods too in any future release.

Does it matter if it is 'correct' in every particular according to what has already been written? Not a bit, because it is bold yet beautifully and lovingly rendered and it breathes thereby proving itself worthy.

I am not sure it has reached its own perfection yet - I hope that the author will take the time to carefully smooth a word or a phrase here or there as the mood takes him but I have seen nothing finer by fans on these forums.

In short it's art.

And if you want a Lore Forum of your own at The Wormhole we would be delighted to set one up for you, no questions asked, AE SITHIS.

Perhaps there are inaccuracies, perhaps there are not. Either way, thank you for the words everyone.

In the first few paragraphs the setting seems to be in the Chimeri-Nordic war, just before the creation of the Dwemer/Chimeri kingdom of Resdayn.

Not quite. ;)

As much as I hate to do this, I'm going to bump this for any newer people to glide through.

I see no real reason to bump this and considering the length of the text and critical posts made by a few users (and also considering you've had to bump this at least 4 times, a few of those times being contiguous), I'm not too sure this needs to be read anymore.

Aw, I support your writing, even though I never read it :( Honestly, it did look intimidating, and it is late. The comments make me kind of want to know... what they were talking about it...

I don't think there's a limit to how many times you can revive something, perse, so long as the time between bumps isn't too short or too long. And also, I really don't think ANY of the comment on this are 'critical'. It's just a few elites wishing they could express themselves in a more robust manner. :)

When a thread dies, it usually does so for a reason. You've had to bump this thread numerous times already, in once case you had four bumps in a row without any one commenting.

Closed for thread necromancy. Working threads on collaborative efforts are the only ones that merit bumping after fully four months idleness, and this is not such a thread.

You may open another thread when you have something new to say.
