Lies from an Intermediate Age

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:13 pm

This is nothing more than a very cryptic view of the Battle of Red Mountain, with a very odd relation to either Keening or Trueflame (Ethos Knife) which was used to kill Dumac Dwarf-Orc. The naming off of the Eight Divines....Maybe it is a parrallel between the Nerevarine freeing the heart with the Ethos Knife (Which would make it Keening), put in comparison to the Divines ripping out Lorkhan's heart and casting it down to Nirn.

There is no Intermediate. These quotes are all just in one thing; the accumulation of Love.

If I were to strike at your right arm three times in a dissimilar fashion, each mark left being one of Love, you'd have nothing left but a Left-Handed Love Taker (Milk Taker)'s bad memory.

Try more in the agrochemical field, and tell me what happens when the atlas of smoke reimburses the flames it once came from, and the salty love-sands that are left behind suddenly begin to trickle down one side of your body.

Sounds like a bad acid trip.

This is why I usually stick to historical lore rather than the weird mystic mumbo-jumbo.

All this is making me wonder what sort of weapon Almalexia wields...

Hopesfire. You see her scalding hotness and hope you have a chance with her.

It's also a one handed sword. Make of that what you will.

And this is why I stick to making bad jokes.

It has nothing to do with that and everything to do with someone being ridiculously cryptic.

It's trolling Jim, but not as we know it!

I dunno, I kinda like the OP. He doesn't flame or get all snide like a lot of forum warriors are apt to become. Still, a little bit more clarity, exposition and explanation would be a good idea, cause otherwise he's basically doing a wordy version of "LOL, I know somethin u don't know!", which is at best a bit pretentious, and at worst outright needling.

No, a bad acid trip would be the assumptions the OP is making with quoting synopsis of circular-bending. Whirlwinds, pinwheels, and cyclones in a lair of Dreugh, their ostentatious bodies flailing about like the prickly dolls you keep hidden and never show anyone for fear of revulsion.

That, in context, is the best acid trip a lonely worm, a barbed prayer, could ever wish for.

Heh, I saw the OP, went "meh", and stopped reading this thread. Practically a week later, I realize this thing is STILL GOING.

lol, this isn't just trolling. It's a higher form: angling. And it appears he's hooked you guys good.

I'm presuming plenty of you already realize this, but just to clarify, all of the quotes come from the 36 Lessons of Vivec.

"A Dwemer said, 'We Dwemer are only aspirants to this that the Velothi have. They shall be our doom in this and the eight known worlds, NIRN, LHKAN, RKHET, THENDR, KYNRT, AKHAT, MHARA, and JHUNAL.' The secret to doom is within this Sermon." (From sermon 3)

"At which he stabbed the heart of the City-Face with the Ethos Knife, which is to say RKHT AI AE ALTADOON AI, the short blade of proper commerce. " (From sermon 30)

"Leading the armies of the Chimer was the slave that would not perish, the Hortator Nerevar, who had traded his axe for the Ethos Knife. He slew Dumac at Red Mountain and saw the heart bone for the first time. " (From sermon 36)

"On the ritual of occasions, which comes to us from the days of the cave glow, I can say nothing more than to loosen your equation of moods to lunar currency." (From sermon 35)

"equation of moods to lunar currency" (From sermon 35)

"proper commerce" (From sermon 30)

"RKHET" (From sermon 3)

A brief comment, then.

Ethos refers to the fundamental characteristics of a culture. From sermon 30 (emphases mine):

Now many years had passed in Resdaynia, and the high priests of the Dwemer were building something alike as Vivec and alike as the new Ha-Note of the Grabbers. The Hortator was engaged with an army of theirs that had become too brave, talking foolish words, and Nerevar helped destroy them with the help of the orphan legion of Ayem. When he went to give trophy to Vivec, he saw his lord under attack by the City-Face. The monster was saying this:
'Here we are to replace your city, Vehk and Vehk. We are from the place of the more-than-known emotions, and our citizenry has died from it. Two things we came for, but can stay for only one. Either we ask you to correct our error of culture, or merely take yours by dint of force. The second is easiest, we think.'
Vivec sighed.
'You would replace my direction,' he said. 'I weary of this, though I wanted to kill you an age before. Resdaynia is fallen ill, and I have no time for one more imaginary anology of an unknown incident. Here, take this.'
At which he touched the tower-hope of the City-Face and corrected the error of the Grabbers.
'And this.'
At which he stabbed the heart of the City-Face with the Ethos Knife, which is to say RKHT AI AE ALTADOON AI, the short blade of proper commerce.
The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

The passage is a comparison of Tribunal-led Dunmeri culture and Dwemer culture (though I suspect the Grabbers might be referencing something else, my guess is pretentious people in the lore forum). The passage is obviously arguing that Dunmeri culture is better.

I forget exactly what RKHT AI AE ALTADOON AI translates too, but its more or less, "the weapon in the hands" or something like that. RKHT is Arkay (as Proweler pointed out) which suggests life and death.

Of course you know why the Dunmeri ethos (culture) is (or is symbolized by) a knife. AE ALTADOON indeed.

your "answers" were just more pseudocryptic wankery. Oh, excuse me, let me rephrase that.

The gradients herein - in both start, end, and the aforementioned "intermediate" - are murky and subject to [Ψυχολογία]. JHL has forbidden us entrance, and this is for the better, for we are not yet ready to embrace the [Love/Truth/Lore] that is enveloped in its embrace. We struggle therefore like the lost spawn of the great Sam-ii Sahlm'n to find its meaning, obscured to us forevermore by the veil of [NUMINIT]. I say, friends, let us forsake this and seek a higher truth more readily given.

really, say something clear or dont say anything at all.

Stephen came closest, but at the last moment made the classic mistake of assuming he knew more than I. Turn that interpretation inside out.
I am loathe to give too many hints to deprive anyone of the pleasure of discovery, so here is the last: What else did Vivec do with the Ethos Knife?
