Life after the war

One of the things I like about Fallout 3 is the random places in the wasteland where people have tried to rebuild and live in makeshift houses and settlements.

An example would be:

Spoiler
Pinkerton's 'home' in the Rivet City Bow. After being kicked out of the Rivet City council, he goes to lab area of the ship and lives the rest of his life as a scientist. In his actual home part he has a little living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom... But most of you already know that!

I don't know why I love these type of things, I just do. :)
So how about sharing your fun findings like this?

I thought the Ghoul settlement was interesting. I wish they were friendly and that there was more to do there.
Bob Andersteen's Radio Signal.
I find a lot of these places, that look like people sheltered there, but they are long gone or dead.
I try to imagine what life was like, based on what I find there.

I like Gallo the Ghoul's little hidey hole when I can remember where he is >.<
Cozy little place with a Nuka Cola collection second only to Sierra's but I always seem to find it by accident.

That's what I don't like about Fallout 3, and to a higher degree New Vegas. After what man did to the planet there should be no second chance. They should be boozing, jetting, stealing, lying, and generally falling into dissent at each opportunity for a better future. Why are they not segregating based on race and persecuting each other with sticks and stones? Why are there outstanding people like Dr. Li, Elder Lyons, Odo, etc working to redeem humanity? No, no, NO!

Damn, I can't believe I forgot this one, especially since I set up a home there.
Spoiler
County Mainline Sewer.

This, and more than likely tipping to good and decent. The FO3 wasteland still has culture, still has icons, still has structure. Now if the wasteland turned into this monstrous jungle island with huge terrain, but, still an island mind you, with NO cultural references, I can see how chaos would ensue. It would turn into Lord of the Flies. Some animals would be better than other animals, and man's tendency to destroy before rebuilding would begin anew.
