So, I was in the middle of testing something else, when I ended up with cowl that did life detection. The pink/purple glow on the bodies was so bright and painful I had to take the cowl off. So then I got to trying a number of alternate shaders, every single one of which had the pink/purple glow it seemed. Then I realized I probably had more than one mod that affected that shader effect. I ran TES4 Edit, and Supreme Magicka and L.a.m.e. were already in the mix. What I thought was very odd was that if I turned the particle shader of the effect off for all the mods in question, I STILL got the purple/pink glowing effect, unless I disabled supreme magicka. So something is happening here that I don't understand. If there are multiple mods that overwrite a shader effect, shouldn't the last one loaded be the only one that works? It seems like they are all combining together. I tried creating my own shader to see how it worked, disabling all other, and I managed to get the particle part disabled, but couldn't get the membrane effect to work, even though I duplicated the settings of another shader that did.
This shader thing is really weird. I'm a fairly smart guy, but none of this is making any sense to my sleep deprived brain.
Anyone out there got some advice for which way to go on this?
Also, I assume that if I want to remove an effect from a mod, I need to go into TES4Edit and delete the effect from there, yes? But that could potentially cause problems? My thought was to remove the life detect effect from Supreme Magicka, because it is bundled in, and that would give me a better chance at isolating and overriding it.
