Light Appreciation Thread

Well I was thinkinh that sprinting, jumping and climbing used up a certian kind of stamina. If you use too many moves at once you should "burn out" and get tired which doesn't let you use those moves for bit. If Lights can naturally run faster and do more then they should burn out quickier but now looking at this idea I realize it's the only advantage they really have so I'll leave it be.

There is no limit on sprinting or physical activity, but light players are given less skill "pips". So you are right in a way, they aren't able to use their skills as many times in a row as a medium or heavy.

Its always been that way. You unlock the other body types in an hour or two, at level 5 I believe. So its no big loss. I think they are just trying to get people used to the game before allowing them to exaggerate their weaknesses.

For your first character. You can make up to 16 characters with any bodytype.

Well l think there is a 24 hour try it out period so you can switch back. Maybe that is only with abilities though. Still with 16 there is room for trial and error.

No, they apparently ditched the permanent bodytype idea, at least according to a post that Capt. Awesome linked from the SD forums, which was from a dev, so I believe it. And once you unlock the bodytypes, I think you are able to create level 1 heavy or light characters.

Ah I see... That's cool then! I never really liked the permanent bodytype idea anyway.
The whole character thing is a bit strange to me though. So use to only having one character, and dealing with only him forever.

Lol damn thats what I said in my deleted post but I thought I might be wrong lol.
I pretty much said everyone starts as medium, other body types unlocked later.

Anyway personally I wouldn't have minded the permanent body type

I liked the idea of having permanent choices, instead of being able to have a single character be a skinny ugly white dude one game and a big good looking black guy the next.

But I'm guessing that in beta, people kept complaining about "I didn't know better" so they scrapped the idea.

But you can still change clothes and stuff. Otherwise THAT would be silly.

Yea more than likely. Still I think Permanent body types would have encourage people to create more characters. Cause without it you would only need 4-6, one for each class, one for completely general and one for Jack of all trades.

I know you can't get all abilities, but once you figure out what you want you wouldn't need extra chars for different body types since you can change it.
