light+2H=bad idea? and axe v GS v hammer

Hey everybody,

I have a heavy+2H GS character right now, but i was looking at light armor. Is the +50% stamina perk bad or not even noticable for 2H combat? also for a non magical user with a 2H, do people just put all points into health and ignore stam? or do they get health up to a certain point (based on game difficulty) and then put the rest into stam? I was thinking get hp to a certain point then put it into stamina and get a health absorb enchant OR would maxing out health and stamina absorb work out better?

Also as mentioned my current toon has a greatsword, but i was thinking about trying out a warhammer and also picking up the 2H perks for it. Do beasts and dragons have a base armor rating of their own? or is the warhammer perk only good against people who wear suits of armor?

Don't use those 0/3 weapon perks. They are worthless.

A Light Armored Two Hander does really well. You can in most case, move faster than your enemies.

hmm i guess thats a plus since i can switch between weapon types instead of being limited to one type because of the weapons perks.

Playing as a non Mage I usually do a 3:1 ratio of upgrading health/ stamina.

Just seems to work out best hat way for me. It gives me enough stamina to use that slow down time perk with the bow and still have enough left to run around if needed.

You regenerate 5% of your stamina bar per second outside of combat, and 1.75% in combat. So with the +50% perk, that becomes 7.5% of your stamina bar per second outside of combat, and 2.6% in combat. At higher levels of stamina (~500), this might end up being a difference of about 5 points of stamina per second, in combat. So it's not a completely useless perk, but it doesn't make much of a difference. I've never bothered with this perk---if I want a stamina boost, I'll use vegetable soup, or quaff a potion.

As for Stamina:Health ratio: this is a bit unclear to me. For a Heavy Armour + 2-Hander, I'd say definitely put the bulk of points into Stamina, at least 7:3 ratio. The idea here is that you want to power attack as much as possible, and your heavy armour will soak up damage. But with Light Armour you aren't as much of a damage sponge, at least initially. So maybe a good strategy is go 5:5 in the early-mid game, but once you start to get close to the maximum armour rating (567 displayed), then you can start trying to get your Stamina:Health ratio closer to 7:3. And in the end game, you should probably be putting even more points into Stamina---game difficulty notwithstanding. (I generally play on Adept because I don't like long drawn out fights, and I think that 300 Health is adequate, given maxed armour, and decent magic resistance).

I personally prefer light armor with 1h & block.

I have an Imperial paladin / crusader (I was calling him a spellsword) who is light armor with 1h & b and greatly uses restoration as support. This build works really well. More so than I imagined. The light armor commitments the build perfectly.

I also chose destruction for ranged attacks but I find I use it for setting rune traps whilst engaging in combat.
