I was playing on my level 20 character which is dual specced for Engineer/Soldier, which is a light body. I decided i was going to get my Medic/Opp (also a Light Body and currently level 12) to level 20 and hopped off my Eng/Soldier character.

I started playing on Resort as Resistance (in Freeplay). As soon as it started i noticed i was using a Gerund AR with a Kross SMG secondary, when 9 times out of 10 i run with Kross Primary and Machine Pistol secondary. My health bar looked like a light's health, so I checked the command post and the only weapon's available would be the Light Body loadouts.

To make sure i was a Light Body, i tried to wall hop, it worked. Glitch?

Yeah I read about this glitch somewhere else. Reportedly you can even get Light's running around with the Heavy Only weaponry.

Problem stems from choosing a weapon and then changing body types. It doesn't happen to everyone, for me it automagically switched me to an SMG (I unlocked the light body and switched to it, forgetting to switch my weapons). I can't reproduce the glitch, but I've seen it and heard of it, and been on the receiving end of it. Ouch.

Go Heavy.

Pick default weapons in Weapons pages.

Go Light.

Do not touch weapons page at all.

Play.

You are now a Light with Heavy default weapons.


No, it's not cheating, since it's built into the game. It is then classifed as an exploit.

Well the way I read it was you switch to Heavy, Default one of their unique guns, switch to another body type. Finally either join someones game or get invited into another game. I've not bothered trying this to vonfirm it because imho it's not that good a trade off. I'd rather run slow and have mor ehealth than be a scrawny little guy who runs fast.

And, last I checked abusing an exploit like that is against M$ terms of agreement? Or policy or w/e?

I've done it a couple times, but only by mistake. And I won't be doing again. If they do punish people for doing this, I won't be one of them. Enjoy. :flamethrower:

But back to srsbsnss; I'm pretty sure there are clauses about abusing broken game features and the like. I'm not sure particularly what punishment games they reserve the right to execute on you, if any. More than likely all they'll wind up doing is patching it and defaulting you back to suitable stock weaponry.

Not my fault if it happens on accident is it? Last i checked I just played the game wanted to switch to light and didn't think to swap weapons... hardly reason for 'punishing' someone. Should be fixed in an update if its not supposed to be there. Or the game should prevent you from joining game if your equipment doesn't match your body type. Its kind of embarrassing that they didn't catch something so important, honestly. This game is looking more and more half assed the more I play it.

Things like this always worm their way in. I don't blame Splash Damage because I've done game programming, and even on the most professional level these "embarrassing" blemishes are going to show through. It happens. It'll get patched. We'll all sing and dance. It's not a big deal

Ummm theres a difference between accidentally doing it and deliberately doing it to get an edge on the competition, just sayin...

I dont think this needs to be 'punished'... but it definitely needs to be fixed.

It's pretty game breaking to be able to have a super fast gatling gun. Hopefully it comes in the first patch.

i was pretty surprised not seeing this fixed in yesterday's patch, cause this seems to be only a minor fix. But ah well, hoping for the next patch then. This exploit is not used a lot anyway, which is a good thing. Let's keep it fair! :hubbahubba:

It's a known glitch, it can be abused, it doesn't work for everyone, and it doesn't always work (I'm on PS3, and have had it work as described once, but never again. I know a few people who have said it worked for them on PS3 though, so it's not patched - just not consistent

Yeah I love this glitch, I got a Light Body with Hjamerdiem and Rokstedi, CQC and range.
I abuse(?) this glitch like a mofo, I'll cry when it's patched :sadvaultboy: but for now Imma get the most out
of it while I can :tops:
