Lights can reach areas that no other bodytypes can reach... Anyone else feel like camping? :teehee:


True they can reach areas no other body types can reach but why camp? What are you doing to help finish the mission except killing enemies which will spawn away from you when killed and would then create a retaliation or ignore that section all together. Causing you to waste time waiting when you could be doing some side missions to increase your team's performance in a much global way. Not to further increase your kill count.

Lone wolfs are not heroes in Brink. You get a cookie if you manage to capture a Command Point by yourself or accomplish carry missions. But what else? the other team can recapture a Command Point, and carry missions only help a little when you could help an engineer repair a critical portion of a mission/defusing a bomb or protect a Soldier blowing up barriers or critical points in the map.

Light Engineers are pretty much snipers in their own right. They have sentry guns and mines to stop enemies from getting too close, and weapon buffs for their light/long rifles. :lol:

The medium class can keep their Assault rifles.

No. The ability to pick up weapons off of dead guys was scrapped a while ago, partly due to the bodytype and weapon class differences, and partly to make Soldiers more useful.

You realize that is has been released by SD that turrets will not do much damage right? This is so that engineers don't do exactly what you described. They (the sentry guns) are used to distract the enemy. And I'm not sure what the maximum number of mines you can place is, but it most likely won't be many.

Actually the only thing making me wonder about this is shotguns not being on a light bodytype.

I havn't seen much shotgun in game footage so maybe im not getting this but i figgure they are about like light rifles only for CQC... that or again maybe my lack of trust in the light rifle division is lacking. Either way i'd like to have a LW with a shotgun.

(For real life comparison for those who dont know. Lightweight people can use shotguns without ill effects Not that it matters for game balance obviously.)

I'm certain they'll do enough damage to make one-shotting a long-rifle plausible. As for the limited amount of mines, you only need enough to cover your ass...I don't think anyone would surround themselves with land mines.
