Light coming in Wndows Mod?

Post » Sat Feb 12, 2011 11:44 pm

Is there a mod that makes it look like light or window glow for daylight is coming in the windows of interior cells? I remmber there was one for Morrowind but i did not know if we had one here for OB...

any suggestions very welcome indeed... thanks in advance for any help.

The Natural Interiors portion of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18305 does exactly that. It's not possible to use it without using the rest of All Natural, but since the rest of All Natural is frakking brilliant, that shouldn't be an issue.

Tough the Real Lights portion doesn't do good to frame rates, you may want to leave it out, if you're having low FPS already.

nn problem with frame rate, got a new rig, and an 8800GT card so it runs OB like a charm at full settings. I am eagerly trying all the tihings i have yearned for for years.

so this mod does do the light.? i will check it out I had illunation within ...an older light mod, i am always eager to try new lights.

I might want to avoid Real Lights for now tho, and just use the rest ...is that possible? the reaons is that i am learning the CS and dont want to change the light system until i learn.

Real Lights mainly edits interiors where FPS is usually not a problem.
Also, it disables sounds from many light sources. The sound can be a resource hog if you're using an onboard sound card.

The sound can be a resource hog period, even with a dedicated sound card. Plus, there is a limit to how many sounds can play in each cell and having torches and lights and stuff all over the place doing that would cut into that limit.

Well, Real Lights (I guess ) might help in interiors where you're being bottlenecked by sound. Practically speaking, I don't think this would ever happen. However, I really don't think Real Lights will give you too much of an issue. As PetrusOctavianus said, it mainly affects interiors where you're just not going to see FPS issues. Also, you mentioned Illumination Within, I think. If you were asking about THAT functionality, then I misunderstood you. IW showed exterior windows lit/unlit (not light shining into the interior), and for that functionality I direct you toward http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19628.

[EDIT] Capitalization error. That wasn't fixed when I edited last time

I can confirm this. <_< Before I upgraded, I always had to disable that feature of the mod. It was alright in some interiors, but in others (especially the inn added in the Anvil Bay Expansion, although that's not a good mod for underperforming computers anyway), it could be quite brutal.

I dont have an amazing graphics card and im running the entire All Natural on my game!

Real Lights is one of my favourite features... i definately wouldnt recommend skipping it!

But yeah, All Natural is the way to go if you want light coming in through the windows :)
