I dont use a switch, I use a switched pylon.
Main power grid generators --> power grid large pylons placed to string wire throughout sanctuary (or other settlement) -->
ONE single wire from closest power grid pylon to a switched pylon placed near my house -->
ONE single wire from switched pylon next to house connected to a side, ground, or roof mounted conduit - whichever matches bulding type best -->
place conduits spaced evenly apart so they can relay wireless power to all parts of house that will have power requirement
Done. With one single flip of switch, all power for just that one house can be turned on or off.
If you want room level control, then yea, will need to use wall switch, but I havent found elegant way to wire rhe svcker without being messy. So i just use one switched pylon per house that connects to my overall settlement power grid.
The key parts are laying out a good power grid that doesnt look crappy, is accessible, and avoids wires all pver by using strategic placement of small and large pylons as well as conduits in some cases to snake the wire hidden away (for example i will place pylon wire to a hoise roof conduit, and then run wire over roof of house using roof conduit to roof conduit connection, it strings wire invisible from street level as it runs parallel over top of roof
In some places like sanctuary, you can also avoid needless ugly power grid pylons all over by attaching a conduit to an existing street lamp which i made sure not to scrap for just such purpose.
Plus, the conduit powers the light bulb i attach to make the street lamps actually serve their purpose again.
