Lighthouse Crash Site!

I've got to get this out of my mind so i have to write it down. Crytek I love this game and it gives me quite a pleasure when i get to kill 10 of em in a row and then they're like OMG its a cheater!... and theres this "BUT", but theres a problem with lighthouse Crash Site mode. I don't know if its on purpose or not, every time its a crash site game alien ship drops 2 or 3 pods right at enemies base. If it's on purpose then i think it's quite retarded(pardon me :P) because one team will always win even tho if there are like all retards in a team. If it's not on purpose then i want to ask crytek map team nicely to change the pod drops to mostly in MIDDLE of lighthouse map because thats the only hot spot for both teams since map is quite big. I really like it when it drops to middle (even more when its on enemies side of middle) it makes it so competitive because u have to try to survive and shoot down incoming troops. In the current state when it drops to enemy base my team have to like run for 20 secs and waste almost all energy and then we become quite vulnarable because we have to wait for our energy and the longer we wait the more points they drain and its a easy win for them :/. I love all maps but this is the only map that started to piss me off because of Crash site enemy base drop pod.

Crash Site is my FAV game mode, and yeah, Lighthouse you usually have to run to other side of map to get pod, it's not a game breaker though, my least FAV map is the Pier.

i know its not a game breaker but its rather annoying because mostly nubs are in your team which kind of annoys u + u have to run through whole map to get a pod with nubs who doesnt know how to run without blowing up their energy

that's why you need a forward sniper/dm in your team when playing lighthouse. they keep the cs clean of enemies and buy other teammates precious time to get there.

yeah sure just give me a skilled sniper, assault team and a tank and i will win map with 150 - 0 :P
It aint competitive like this because u can easily kill enemies that are coming from the other end since every time it takes them to come to u from the other end when u kill em and dont forget that when its at ur base ur respawning right at the pad. with some calculations:
Enemy team takes 10 to 15 seconds to come to the enemy base + resting at the middle to get full energy again thats like 2 or 3 secs more and then taking a good look where are all enemies which means 20 secs. When u kill em that repeats so every time its 20 secs for them when u kill most of em since there are no rambos that can take out whole team like that (i tried few times but nope :P) AND respawn takes 5 secs so basicly it means 20 secs for first charge and fails after it take like 25 secs.
For ones that pod is in their base means 5 secs if u get killed which is rare
Also as u said forward sniper, dont forget they have sniper too :P

It can be quite a chore, respawning at the ruins when the pod is at the lighthouse. It takes forever to run there by which time you are out of energy and you're likely to get sniped anyhow. Plus the fact that 4 out of 6 of your players will be sniping from the ruins anyway can make this map not fun'. That said the pod usually lands at both ends of the map at some point so it's not completely unbalanced - just depends upon whose controlling which areas.

If you spawn with a good team it makes little difference.

Lighthouse is a great map if your team's worth a ****. I have noticed that it predictably lands in a pattern, so if you can stop the other team from winning when it lands twice on their side (you don't need to kill them, just run around and don't die), you can get easy points later on.

A lot of the easy wins on pubs come because 2-3 players will camp the lighthouse itself, and 1-2 players will be sniping from somewhere random. That leaves only 3 to attack, which is definitely not enough.

TBH I really like all the maps (except Liberty and Evac Zone), they are all really well balanced and fun.

Also as u said forward sniper, dont forget they have sniper too :P
mildly comptence forward sniper/recon unit should:
1.don't get into the range of the enemy sniper at base. the sam site and the trees make each side's sniper only cover less than half of the map
2.consider counter sniping the first priority, even higher than cleaning a cs held by enemy side.
3.always stays in cloack and use visor to tag threats whenever direct engage is not safe. this is extremly helpful if both sides have snipers at base. since directly engaing an enemy sniper is most dangerous, a good tactics is to stay cloacked and tag the enmy sniper so your sniper buddy at base can then shoot through all the trees across the whole map and kill him for you.(i've done this myself before and trust me that was the most rewarding thing i've ever done in this game)

Crash site maps have the spot for the pods preplaced. Pods always appear in the same spots. However, the order in which this happens seems to be random. Having said that, it means that the pod can land on the opponent's side of Lighthouse 3 or 4 times in a row, and if you do not have a forward playing team (aka you have a bunch of snipers) it will be extremely difficult to get people on those points to hold off the other team long enough for the pod drops to start appearing on your side.

Its doable, and I've been fortunate enough to have good teammates in these situations a lot of the time, but its really a hit or miss map. While a pair of skilled teams will be evenly matched, in a pub server, where the teams can be horribly unbalanced, there will be 5 minute games depending on where the pods land. Other CS maps don't have this problem.

Personally I agree that the pods need to be more centralized on this map. There shouldn't really be a pod landing zone on either team's spawn area...

yeah thats what im trying to say liama... If both teams were balanced the team that has pod in their base will basicly win and that kind of annoys me. I have no problem with dropping on enemies middle side but at their base... thats just dull and cruel ^^
